  • 5 medium apples, washed and dried
  • 5 lollipop or wooden sticks
  • 1 (11-ounce) bag caramels
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Topping, choose from the following:
    • 1 cup Archer Farms Pumpkin Spice Monster Trail Mix
    • 2 cups coarsely chopped Candy Corn Oreo Sandwich Cookies
    • 1 cup M&M’s Boo-terscotch Candies

candied apples

  • 5 medium apples, washed and dried
  • 5 lollipop or wooden sticks
  • ½ (12-ounce) package white or dark melting wafers
  • Topping, choose from the following:
    • candy eyeballs (cake decoration)
    • mixture of crushed chocolate wafers, graham crackers and mallow bits
    • 1 cup shredded coconut flakes, 15 raisins
    • assorted gel food coloring for painting on

Insert sticks in centers of apples. Arrange on parchment-lined tray. Refrigerate until ready to use.

caramel apples:

Combine unwrapped caramels and water in medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high 1 minute; stir. Microwave 1 minute longer; stir. Careful: bowl may be hot. If necessary, microwave in 30-second additional increments until caramels can be stirred smooth. Dip apples one at a time in caramel, turning to coat evenly and allowing excess to drip off. Dip in or press on desired topping. Arrange on lined tray. Refrigerate until set.

candied apples:

Melt wafers as directed on package. Dip apples one at a time in candy, turning to coat evenly and allowing excess to drip off. Dip in or press on desired topping. For Dia de los Mertos apple, allow candy to set up completely. Paint on face with food coloring. Stand apples on lined tray. Refrigerate until set.

  • 2 (12-ounce) packages Archer Farms Classic Guacamole
  • ½ (12-ounce) bag Simply Balanced Blue Corn Tortilla Chips with Flax
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 black olive, halved
  • 1 small mushroom, halved
  • 1 jalapeno
directions

Spread guacamole on large tray in 10x8-inch rectangle. Arrange chips at top and bottom to form hair and shoulders. Spoon on sour cream and add olive halves for eyes. Place mushroom halves on each side of neck as bolt-electrodes. Cut thin slices of jalapeno for mouth and scar.

Tip: For mouth and scar, thin strips of green bell pepper may be used in place of the jalapeno.

Celebrate the season with these adorable peppers. There’ll be smiles all around when everyone gets their own jack-o’-lantern. To save time, “carve” the peppers the night before and refrigerate in an airtight container until you’re ready to fill and bake.

ingredients
  • 5 medium orange, yellow or red bell peppers
  • 1 package Market Pantry 90-Second Whole Grain Brown Rice
  • 1 (15.5-ounce) can Market Pantry Black Beans, rinsed and drained
  • ½ cup salsa
  • ½ cup corn kernels
  • ½ cup Market Pantry Shredded Cheddar Cheese
directions

Heat oven to 350 ℉. Use paring knife to “carve” peppers, removing lids and seeds, then cutting jack-o’-lantern faces. If peppers don’t sit upright, slice off small portion of base to create level surface. Arrange peppers in 8-inch square baking dish. Heat rice as directed on package. Stir rice, beans, salsa, corn and cheese in medium bowl. Spoon into peppers. Add lids. Bake 25 to 30 minutes until filling is warm and peppers are crisp-tender. Serve warm.

Tip: To keep peppers upright in baking dish, place each in a corner. Loosely crumple sheet of foil; place in center of dish between peppers.

  • 1 (12-ounce) package dark melting wafers
  • 6 Kit Kat Darkness snack-size candy bars, unwrapped
  • About 30 candy eyeballs (cake decoration)
  • Half package Archer Farms Candy Corn Trail Mix (about 1 cup)
directions

Line large baking pan with parchment. Melt wafers as directed on package. Spread into large rectangle, about 14x11-inches, on lined pan. Immediately top with candy bars, eyeball candies and trail mix, pressing in gently. Let stand about 45 minutes to set. Break or cut into pieces to serve. Refrigerate leftovers in airtight container.

Parents can carve these adorable jack-o’-lanterns. Kids can spoon in the easy fruit salad. Everyone will enjoy eating them!

ingredients
  • 4 navel oranges (if possible, select oranges that each “sit” on one end)
  • 1 cup grapes
  • 1 apple, chopped
  • ½ cup juice reserved from oranges
  • 1 tablespoon honey
directions

Working over a large rimmed tray or baking pan to catch the juices, first carve a face on one side of each orange. Then cut off “lids” from oranges. Using a spoon, starting at top, scrape inside of orange away from the peel until inside is mostly clean. Combine grapes, apple, ½ cup fresh orange juice from tray and the honey in medium bowl. Toss to coat. Spoon into each orange jack-o’-lantern. Add lid if desired. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Tip: Oranges may be “carved” a day in advance; refrigerate in airtight container. Then simply toss the fruit and fill the jack-o’-lanterns just before serving.

  • 1 apple
  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
  • 24 pretzel sticks
  • 8 raisins

Core and cut apple into 8 (¼-inch) slices. Spread 4 slices with peanut butter. Top with remaining apple slices. Insert 8 pretzels into peanut butter of each “spider” for legs, 4 on each side. For smaller spiders, break pretzels in half for legs. Dot raisins with peanut butter and arrange on top for eyes.

Tip: Prepare ingredients and let kids assemble their own spiders for snacking.
