Senior Designer at Target I’m a huge fan of all things ’80s–the amazingly ridiculous clothes, the big hair and most importantly, all of the games, music, sitcoms and movies. I grew up on Atari, MTV, HBO and Showtime. I spent my childhood summers and weekends going to movies, playing Pitfall, Frogger and Q*bert, falling in love with SNL and watching hundreds of movies over and over, thanks to our over-sized satellite dish (and my mom’s mad VHS-recording skills). I’m sure I retained far more movie quotes and trivia than anything else during that time. But I’m, like, totally ok with that.
Associate Creative Director at Target As a child of the ’80s, my nostalgia for all things from the era runs deep. My first cassette tape was Run-DMC, and while I was too young to really understand much of what their lyrics meant, the early synth beats created a life-long love for the genre. I also loved E.T., and my uncle was one of the actors in The Goonies, which gave the classic film that I loved a personal connection. Everyone talks about Stranger Things as an ’80s throwback series, which is true, but it’s the great acting and compelling storyline that intrigues me and reminds me of why I loved so much from that time.
