Social Engagement at Target When I was in college at South Dakota State, I kept myself BUSY. There was schoolwork, of course, but I also loved getting involved with others. I gave tours to prospective students and was president of the Black Student Alliance. So, when I joined the real world, I had to make sure I kept doing what I was passionate about. In addition to my day job, I’m a photographer, and I work to create spaces for multi-racial individuals to talk about self-identity. But some things never change. I’m still best friends with my college roommate!
Digital Media Analyst at Target Moving from a fully-furnished college apartment to an empty one in downtown Minneapolis for my first job gave me an opportunity to express myself. I’ve lived and traveled in over 23 countries in the past few years, and these cultural experiences inspired the theme for my new home. I’ve decorated with inspirational travel quotes, globes hanging from the ceiling, map decals with countries pinned that I’ve been to, custom clothes from many countries and other memorable items from my travels. Now, where to next?
Digital Media Analyst at Target I was born and raised in California, but found myself in Minnesota (go Gophers!), and as I’ve acclimated to working full time and living on my own the last few years, I’ve learned that there is no right or wrong way to “adult.” But I have a few tips that make this whole growing-up thing a little easier. First, take time to unwind before bed. Second, eat right. Third, don’t live for the weekend. You can fuel yourself during the weekdays with your passions (and good food and enough rest). Find a productive outlet you can get excited about each week. Do it for you.
