Modern Sprout Growbar V2 Grow Light - Matte White - Smart, Metal

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this as a free item in order to review it. I do really like it, as it comes with an app to control the lights. But, if you want to go lower tech and cheaper, just get a 4500K LED light strip and manually turn it on and off. But if you want the app, this is really cool. I'm currently growing peppers from Spain under these.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I followed the in-app instructions to get this set-up but it did take me a couple of extra try’s to due to my Wi-Fi not being very strong in my house where I was setting it up. Once I did get it set up it was easy to use the app and control the light. I think if you are not able to utilize the app, I would probably go with a different set up. The housing frame that lights are in is made of metal which made the whole set up seem very rigid and the quality of the materials/paint job appeared to be good quality. I was pretty impressed with how much light this light made for the size of it, and I could get about three plants under is for my set up. I have this light set up on some plants in a bonus room that gets pretty inconsistent natural light to keep some plant growing all year around. The manual mode also is a nice option if I ever need that. You will need to find something to mount the bar to as this does not have a stand and I did use the double-sided tape to mount this bar on a dresser shelf which looks nice for the plants to grow on. So far so good. I look forward to having some herbs all year around.

Love my Growbar! I installed it on a bookcase in my home office. It's allowed me to add tons of plants to a room that doesn't get much natural light. Plus, since I don't use that room all the time, I know my plants are still being tended to thanks to the customized schedule I setup. I've been able to sprout Rosemary & Bonsai seeds in Chicago in the winter! And used it to help revitalize a few plants that weren't getting enough light elsewhere in my house. Will definitely be getting a couple more.

This is a great little grow lamp with a nice long cord. The only thing I wish is that it came with screw holes I cannot get it to stay on the ceiling I'm using it on with the provided adhesive, nor another adhesive I had already. I've ordered some max strength adhesive and hoping for the best, but it would be great if screws were an option for people who did want a more permanent placement.

This grow light is perfect for my space and my plants love it! BUT for such an expensive light, I expected the LEDs to better secured to the bar. The adhesive back keeps unsticking and the LEDs keep falling down.

This is a very good grow light! I waited a month or so to review so I could see how various plants would respond to it, if there was growth. I have bromeliads, orchids, tillandsia and a string of pearls all doing very well and with new growth. The light is unobtrusive and modern, the timer and adjustable brightness are helpful and convenient .

Love this light and the look of it. I don't love how Modsprout products blink to connect to the app. It is very jarring and nauseating for me. The lights also has wifi disconnection issues. However, I put up with the app issues because I love the physical product and the fact that it works well for my plants. :)

Purchased because I loved the idea of a nice grow bar. Sadly it stopped working within a year of purchase. The manual switch stopped working and it keeps disconnecting from its hotspot. I've got two, and only one is working.

Bought this grow light for it's a sleek design. However, it took two hours to connect the device to the app. After that, it kept saying the device was offline. It would turn on for a second and then turn off. The power button doesn't turn it on or off. Also, speaking as an electrical engineer, the soldering connection makes me super worried that it will fail over time and snap off. For this price, I'm thoroughly upset.

Love the growbar- SO easy to attach and use. The app is great, as always.

Light doesn’t stick and keeps falling down onto plants and breaking them.

Modern Sprout created a shipping label, but UPS never received the package. Even though my order page on the Target website shows that UPS still has not received the package almost two weeks after the label was created and a week after the item was supposed to be delivered, Target has refused to issue me a refund. This is my first bad experience with Target. After spending hours on the phone and chatting and getting the run around, I’m done with Target.com. Check out Target’s reviews on Facebook before making online purchases. I’m out $124 for an item that was never shipped. Definitely, don’t make purchases online using your debit Red Card. If I had been smarter, I would have used a credit card and just have filed a claim with the credit card company. Now, I’ll have to take the documentation to WA State Consumer Protection.

This light has allowed me to put plants where I couldn't have them before, without sacrificing the clean look of the shelves. But then the flowering plants started staying in bloom and the succulents stayed happy, and I realized what a light deficit they had before, even in my sunniest space. I'm looking forward to adding a couple more.

Super easy to use and my plants are so happy! I love the customizable light settings and timer, and that I can set it all up through the app.

Love my smart growbar! It was very easy to connect to the app and even easier to navigate the app afterwords. I love that I can set a schedule but then still adjust remotely if I need to. The only reason I rate it four stars instead of five is that I didn't receive a second set of dual lock mounting strips, and I will mention that I didn't contact the company regarding it instead just buying some from the store.
