Q: Will this work on plastic?

  • A: E6000 bonds great to most surfaces but may struggle with some plastics. To improve the bond strength with plastic, try scuff-sanding and roughening the surface. Clean with acetone after sanding. Apply the product to both surfaces and allow 2-3 minutes for the product to get tacky before mating the two together and clamping/securing with weight for 24 hours.   • A: E6000 is a great choice for bonding acrylic. It may be a good idea to first scuff-sand or roughen the surfaces to be bonded. Clean both surfaces with acetone or rubbing alcohol prior to applying. For best results treat the product as a contact adhesive, meaning apply the product to both surfaces and allow 2-3 minutes for the product to get tacky before mating the two together and clamping/securing with weight for 24 hours.   • A: E6000 is a great adhesive and bonds well to many different surfaces but may struggle to form a strong bond with silicone. It’s a great glue that holds well. However, I was disappointed with the precision tip. It worked great the first time with it’s fine precision tip for tight areas. I was careful to wipe the tip clean and even poked a pick through both ends of the tip before replacing with the regular tip. The second time around, nothing would come out so I had to squeeze a drop out and apply with a tooth pick. Great concept, if only you could use more than once. If you buy it, try to plan out all your tasks at one sitting and it will do a great job, as long as you don’t put it to rest for a day or more.

Glue Busted Out the Back Seam
