Q: Will this work on plastic?
A: E6000 bonds great to most surfaces but may struggle with some plastics. To improve the bond strength with plastic, try scuff-sanding and roughening the surface. Clean with acetone after sanding. Apply the product to both surfaces and allow 2-3 minutes for the product to get tacky before mating the two together and clamping/securing with weight for 24 hours. Q: Can this be used to glue two acrylic sheets together?
A: E6000 is a great choice for bonding acrylic. It may be a good idea to first scuff-sand or roughen the surfaces to be bonded. Clean both surfaces with acetone or rubbing alcohol prior to applying. For best results treat the product as a contact adhesive, meaning apply the product to both surfaces and allow 2-3 minutes for the product to get tacky before mating the two together and clamping/securing with weight for 24 hours. Q: Can this be used on silicone?
A: E6000 is a great adhesive and bonds well to many different surfaces but may struggle to form a strong bond with silicone. We have had some success if the silicone is roughened or scuff-sanded first, then wiped clean with acetone before application. Thank you for your support of Eclectic Products and Target!
