Description

Book Synopsis

Blood, the best bounty hunter in the galaxy, and Thunder, her pacifist sentient gun, continue their hunt for the universe's deadliest criminal! And this chase is filled with unpredictable enemies, lots of explosions, and, of course, some robot sarcasm.

Writer Benito Cereno (INVINCIBLE PRESENTS: ATOM EVE & REX SPLODE), acclaimed artist E.J. Su (TECH JACKET), and visionary creator Robert Kirkman (INVINCIBLE, THE WALKING DEAD) continue the hunt for the universe's deadliest criminal.

As Blood, the galaxy's best bounty hunter, and Thunder, her pacifist sentient gun, pursue the universe's deadliest prison escapee, its trail delivers them to planets unlike any they've seen before.

But why does Prisoner X seem to know more about Blood's secret past than she does? Around every corner, the dynamic duo discover new friends, old enemies, LOTS of explosions, and robot sarcasm, of course.

Collects Blood & Thunder #7-12.

About the Author

Benito Cereno is a writer and podcaster whose work includes Tales from the Bully Pulpit with Graeme MacDonald and Hector Plasm with Nate Bellegarde, both for Image Comics. He also wrote Invincible Presents Atom Eve and Rex Splode and, in collaboration with Robert Kirkman, the first Guarding the Globe series. He was the primary writer for The Tick from New England Comics, featuring art by Les McClaine. He has also written stories for Dark Horse Comics, Dynamite Comics, and others.

As a podcaster, he is the co-host with Chris Sims of Apocrypals, a thorough look at the Bible and related writings through a historical and literary lens, but also it's a comedy podcast, so funnier than that sounds. He also co-hosts Friends Till the End with Matt D. Wilson and Erica Henderson, a podcast nominally about the Chucky franchise, but also covering horror media more broadly.

He lives in Kentucky with his wife and two cats. He has no children but has long been refining his avuncular vibe.

First and foremost a comic creator, Kirkman has seen groundbreaking success in the adaptation of his comic book titles into major franchises in all forms of content. In 2010, his Eisner award winning series, The Walking Dead, was developed into an AMC television series. It has become a worldwide phenomenon as the highest-rated basic cable drama of all time. The property has also been extended into a blockbuster game franchise, licensing business and ongoing publishing success.

Additional Kirkman comics include Oblivion Song, Die!Die!Die!, Invincible, Outcast, Super Dinosaur, Battle Pope, Astounding Wolf-Man, and Thief of Thieves.

Kirkman also serves as consulting producer of The Talking Dead, the popular talk show hosted by Chris Hardwick that deep dives into each week's episode of both The Walking Dead and its companion series Fear the Walking Dead. Kirkman is co-creator, writer and producer of The Walking Dead's companion series, Fear the Walking Dead.

He is also executive producer of the AMC series Robert Kirkman's Secret History of Comics, and the Korean pre-apocalyptic drama, Five Year. Kirkman's popular demonic-exorcism comic, Outcast, was adapted and produced for Cinemax. His second longest running coming book series Invincible is currently being adapted for a live action movie for Universal and an animated series for Amazon. Kirkman will serve as Executive Producer on both adaptations.

Robert is also the Chairman of Skybound Entertainment. Robert, an advocate for creator rights, co-founded Skybound alongside his longtime business and producing partner David Alpert in an effort to ensure creators are able to maintain their intellectual property rights and creative control.

E. J. Su is an American comic book artist and penciller. He was born in Taiwan and moved to the United States at the age of 14. He is best known for his work on Transformers and Castlevania: Belmont Legacy.

He has also worked for Image Comics on Tech Jacket (2002), a six-issue limited series, with writer Robert Kirkman.

Michele Assarasakorn (M.SASSY.K) is a Thai-Canadian illustrator who works from her home in Vancouver, British Columbia. She worked as an artist in animation, video games, and film before discovering how much she enjoyed storytelling through personal illustrations and coloring the works of comic artists she admires. M.SASSY.K is currently a full-time colorist on comics including Isola and spends the rest of her time frolicking in the BC wilderness.
