Q: I recently purchased the movie theater for my daughters birthday. After fully setting it up the lights on the front works but the wall lights and exit sign does not. Is there anything i can do, i am having difficulty taking it apart.

A: As someone else also said, even if you think all of the walls are snapped in, they're not. I just spent a good five minutes going inch by inch pushing down the walls and finally about 4 inches from the front corner of the cinema (ticket booth) I heard one last click and when I press the star inside all of the lights go on.

A: We realized tonight that the best way to ensure that all the pieces are snapped correctly, is to flip the entire set over and snap each tab individually. We has been trying to get the lights to work since Christmas by putting the set on a hard floor and pushing down on the walls. That didn't work, because there are actually tabs under the floor of the theater. Flipped it over in frustration tonight, and got the lights working by pushing on each individual tab - and realized that many were not fully connected

A: I had the same problem. The inside lights and the exit sign lights would not work. I contacted customer service and their advice was to return the item and get a new one. I did so and the second one did not work either. The one I have currently is still not working, even after following the directions. Good luck finding one that works. I think there are some defective ones.

A: The key to getting this thing to work is to (1) make sure you assemble it in the order of the instruction sheet and (2) make sure you hear a snap on all sides when putting it together. It may take a little force. As my review stated, I STILL say make sure it’s on “play” mode and not switched off if you are confident all sides are snapped in place properly. That was my issue. I returned my first set when I honestly think it was on “try me” mode since the lights would come on but kept shutting off. If that’s not the issue then keep pressing down on each side again until you hear that click noise. This set has the same complaints as the school room which I also purchased when it was first released. The complaint is that the electronics do not work. The electronics DO work on both sets. The key is to install the pieces in order as instructed and make sure you hear a snap noise. Don’t try to install it in the order you want to because you know where the pieces go. Here’s another important tip. Make sure you are installing these on a leveled surface. I tried installing a wall on this set on a part of my basement floor that looks leveled but wasn’t completely leveled, and it was difficult to get the wall to snap. When I moved it to another spot that was leveled, I had no problems. We haven’t had any issues since my kids received it Christmas morning. It’s even been picked up and moved to the play room by my husband and everything is still working perfectly fine.

A: To all those considering returning their sets, try THIS first. I bought this set for Christmas despite the reviews and fingers crossed. Sure enough, after assembly sliding the power panel from "Try Me" to "Play" my heart sunk when the inner lights didn't come on. Here's what worked for me: In trying to figure out the location of the contacts powering the lights, I noticed the panel inserts on the underside of the unit directly below the ticket booth were not all the way secured. So, instead of pushing from above, I tapped the set in that location with my lower palm and heard a distinctive SNAP. Viola! Lights work perfectly. I hope this works for everyone because I know how excited our kids were receiving this and how expensive this toy is.

A: I had this same problem. After taking it apart 3 times - if it is snapped completely together, ours the front ticket booth panel wasnt going in, the lights will come on. I had to use alot of pressure to get it to completely snap. Hope this helps.

A: The front lights are connected directly to the battery compartment, so they will always work. The side lights are connected by a wire running underneath the the unit, which has a connector on the bottom of the side panel and another connector on the bottom of the front panel (there are wire chases on the bottom of the unit that you can open by removing the screws). The lights will only work if the front and side pieces are FULLY pushed in. Even if you think that the pieces are pushed in, not all of the clips may be. You need to turn the unit over and check on the bottom to make sure that all of the clips are in. On my unit, there were 2 clips on the front piece that weren't in all the way. Once I snapped the front piece all the way down, the lights worked. Good luck!

A: Just put ours together and same thing is happening - lights in front work but inside cinema lights will not work even after checking everything. What a disappointment- I feel like it’s the Hello Barbie Dreamhouse nightmare all over again. Same type of technology which apparently needs perfecting. Taking back with schoolhouse before we even open that too.

A: I just assembled mine and it’s an easy set up. You’re just snapping a few pieces together. You’re not going to be able to disassemble it once it’s put together. If you do, you risk breaking something. It’s the same as the school room which I also own. Once it’s together, it’s hard to take it apart. I actually had to exchange my first cinema for another one. When I tried to disassemble it to return it, a piece snapped and broke.

This set is so adorable!! I was super hesitant to buy due to negative reviews... However, I had no issue getting the item out of the package with scissors, I assembled on a hard surface floor, and everything went together just fine! You do have to press really hard to click the pieces together, but once you do it is secured and works correctly. The ticket booth at the front is small, but my daughter didn't seem to mind. I'm very impressed with the details of this item - The carpet and color scheme is just like a real theater! The lights and popcorn machine are a cute touch! Overall, if you find it on clearance it's worth the purchase.

The theater is nice, but the exit lights don't work. It took a lot of effort to assemble just to find out that not all parts are functional. This same thing happened to us with the Cozy Cabin. Nice idea of a playset for the Our Generation dolls, but the fireplace didn't work. We thought that this issue may have been old batteries but even after replacing it with new batteries, the fireplace didn't work.

Love this set! “Santa” brought it for my special-needs son, who adores movie theaters. I’d give it 5 stars, but the exit sign and lights on the interior wall don’t light up, and there doesn’t seem to be a safe way to disassemble and troubleshoot without potentially breaking the tabs that hold it all together. My kids don’t know the difference, though, and this has become their go-to toy after school. Wish I’d had something this cool when I was a kid!

I really want to love this, but I just can't. I like the idea of a movie theater, it has a lot of play value. However, the packaging is horrendous! Absolutely the most frustrating and time consuming object to extract from it's packaging! The accessories are adorable and I love those. The exterior lights work just fine. No matter how tight of a fit I can't get the interior "exit" sign and the light sconces adjacent to it to work. I am positive my husband and I correctly snapped this together with a proper fit and the interior lights will not engage. After reading many other reviews, we believe this to be a design flaw in the unit itself. So.....it's a great set with lots of play value if you can live with a 50/50 shot you will not have the interior lights working.

Be sure to look underneath to make sure the tabs are clicked into place. The electrical contacts run around the perimeter of the theater and unless they all make contact, the circuit won't work. Overpriced, with multiple quality control issues. The packaging on this item was crazy, with multiple plastic straps, tie wraps, molded plastic with very strong tape attached to cardboard, etc. All sorts of awkward things that had to be cut, torn, gripped and ripped apart or ripped open with effort, and so on. OK, so now you have everything unpacked and spread out. One key piece is a semi-circle plastic part for the front of the theater, that lights up and says "CINEMA." Well, it has two end pieces, one with wires, and BOTH of these pieces were broken off the half-circle. They weren't even broken off clean, but I managed to super glue them back together good enough that the CINEMA sign actually fit to the main front piece OK and the sign did light up. Then we put the rest of the theater together, had some fit issues with one wall, and no matter how tight and secure I got this wall, the 2 little wall-mounted lights and "exit" light never worked. My twin grand daughters still like it well enough and are playing with it. Selling tickets to their dolls, who then buy from the concession counter, the llittle popcorn machine churns the toy popcorn, then they set up my daughters iPad and play a video to be the featured movie. It had potential to be better, but packaging is nuts to fight through, one part was broken, the fit of one wall was awful, and some lights didn't work. I don't recommend.

Very cute and detailed theater, however, I read the reviews before purchasing and was concerned about the lights not working. The Cinema light works but the interior lights do not. I have tried everything making sure the wall is seated firmly into the floor with no luck. Expensive item that is not fully functional.

I purchased this set in early February and had to return it because it was previously used and broken. I reordered another set. This movie theater arrived in great shape, but unfortunately only the lights on the front work. Even though the walls seemed to snap into place, the lights and exit sign don't work. All of the accessories are very detailed and my granddaughter loves it even though all of the lights don't work. We will just keep this one.

My granddaughter absolutely love it , but the item appeared that it may have been a return. A piece was broken off and there were scuffs and what appeared as marker on it. All of the lights worked, but for the price I am not keeping a broken item. I am disassembling the item and returning it to exchange for another. Hopefully, we'll have better luck with the replacement.

Ordered this movie theater set for Christmas and the first set arrived broken. Tried to order a new one and couldn’t get one in stock until after Christmas and that one arrived broken too! I have a very disappointed little girl and for the price I expected better. Both sets were cracked on both sides with no way for repair.

I purchased the movie theater for my grandchildren. When the opened it up on Christmas, the wires had been cut so the entire lighting system did not work. I ordered another one and hopefully that will be sent to them without any defects. I am wondering if the one they opened on Christmas had been someone else's toy and Target shipped it to them thinking they might not care. Like I said, I will see if the next one is working. If not, that will be returned as well.

I was incredibly excited to purchase this as a gift for my 3 year old. She was consistently drawn to the Cinema every single time we go to Target (which is a LOT). After purchasing I set aside for special occasion, and when she opened it today (Easter) the Marquee (top corner) was broken off, the lights don't work. We've purchased relatively few OG Toys and this, the picnic basket & other items were broken on arrival home. There's not returning a 3 year olds gift so we just get a broken toy. Ensures I buy no other OG toys for her except maybe the dolls, dogs, and maybe an outfit or two. far too expensive to be broken upon arrival.

Unfortunately, as the manufacturer, we have no control over the condition of our products once they leave our factories. We strongly suggest you take it back to Target for an exchange (Target makes it easy!)
