This is one of Monoprices better products.. The connection is tight and secure, the cable is substantial , the covering is functional and looks good, made of good quality material.. The sound is of great quality in two channel audio. This product and optical in general is not able to carry adequate information for 5.1, 7.1, or 9.1 audio and such. If your doing two channel or for headphones, this is a real winner.

Love the cable, hate that I had to pay 2 shipping costs for 2 cables on the same order. 1 order for 2-10' cables (1-HDMI 1-Toslink) should be 1 shipping cost per order. Combine your shipping cost!

Excellent quality. Very thick /less than agile. Think twice about tight corners.

If you perform with any DAW type software such as Reason Studios, Presonus Studio One, or MIDI keyboards where playback is done from your build in sound card, you'll hear a light pop before and after playback. This is not noticeable with Itunes, FooBar and other types of Music Player software. I had to scrap this cable and revert back to 3.5mm to RCA connection off the MOBO card. Yes, I've the latest drivers and latest BIOS and chipset are installed and this MOBO plays 192x24bit and also DSD encoded files. it's the cable.

I ordered this cable in 2011, it lasted until recently 2021, but the plastic connector sleeve disintegrated inside of the female connector on my TV. Monoprice has honored the warranty and will replace the cable, which is presently not in stock.

A very heavy duty cable in the length I needed for my wall mounted TV to sound bar. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the fact that one end was assembled askew of the opposite end and doesn’t “click” into its receiving end. Having to twist the cable to get it aligned to the female connection point was not easy and it is only being held in from the torque of the twist. Fortunately it works. I do recommend Monoprice.

This cable is beautiful and the tiny protective caps are great. They are attached, so they won't get lost. The problem I ran into was that the heads have a huge hard square piece that really gets in the way. I had bought it to replace an existing cable that was a bit too short, but the big square heads prevent this cable from plugging into my TV. It will start to go in, but can't lock in because the head catches around the TVs connector. I was able to use this cable in another location, but if your application has a tight connection area, then pass on this cable, or be ready to send it back.

This is an absolutely beautiful cable... it's quite flexible too. The caps at each end of the cable could perhaps be a bit more robust. Also, the plug itself is quite large, which may be a problem for some devices, although it wasn't for me. I am very happy.

It's not ten foot as advertised.. the one I received in the mail is only Four foot at best.. other than that it's a great working product...

I haven't used one of these cords in well over 15yrs, but had to get one to test out why my audio was glitching on my PC via the HDMI cord... Luckily this S/PDIF fixed my audio issue, and now am sending the HDMI (picture) straight to my projector, while this S/PDIF (audio) cord goes to the receiver.

They lied to me about shipping times and the support was rude.

The cable seems to be well constructed and has performed perfectly.

The cable may be fine but I could not drive the signal 75 feet.

Received 3. All had the same defect. The optical fiber does not sit flush with the optical connector, On one cable, it was flush on one end and 1./4" extended on the other. On the other cable, it was flush one end and extended 3/8" on the other. On the third cable, it was 1/8" extended on both ends., striaght out of the box. Returned them all for a refund. Monoprice customer service is outstanding , which is why I gave 3 stars, 1 for the product and 5 for customer service, I do not know if the shorter lengths are also problematic, just the 35 foot length. I also tried to push the fiber back in, like another review, but it just sprung back out.
