I thought the cocoa smell was going to cause me problems but it didn't. It is a soft cream with a cocoa smell because this is one of its main ingredients. I started using this cream on my baby when he was 6 and I love it.

I had a very hard time opening this bottle so i had to open the entire time and go around utilizing the pump because it ended up getting stuck. The cocoa butter baby lotion definitely has the same thick, luxurious consistency and feel that the body butter has. It absorbs so quickly and doesn't leave any greasy feeling. My skin has been so dry lately, and this instantly helped replenish my skin barrier. My only complaint is the fragrance. I am not a fan of the baby powder scent and would have loved this even more if it was naturally scented with the cocoa butter or even unscented completely. It has worked well for my eczema and seems suitable for my kid's sensitive skin. But I'm not sure that I would use it for a newborn.
