Q: Is this covered un urathane? Is it stainable? I need to get It to an EXPRESSO color, I need to know if it's possible before I purchase it

A: I needed it in espresso too. The shelf was exactly what I wanted so I took a chance, bought it and painted it- it turned out beautifully and is hanging in my dining room. I don't know if you could stain it but spray paint worked just fine. I used a satin finish not high gloss.

I just love this shelf and bought it to go in a very small bathroom with bamboo accent cabintry. The saw tooth hangers worry me though... I have anchors with the screws but it really wouldn't take much of a bump to have this thing lift off the saw tooth hangers on the back and fall off the wall. Couldn't you think of something sturdier for a shelf? I'm on the fence on this one even though I love how it looks in the room. We'll see what happens...

The mounting hardware is not secure enough. Even though it is rated at 27 pounds, I did not trust it when I put it up. If you are going to put heavier things on it, use things that are OK if they fall. Because the hardware on the back of the shelf isn't exactly even, it's hard to get the whole thing level. Especially if you are putting up more than one and want to have them symmetrical. I took them back for a return and got more sturdy floating shelves.

Bought a pair, painted them white and moved hanging hooks to other side- formed a hexagon. Hung them and added meaningful trinkets and necessary daily use items. A great way to add trendy angels to a space! Got them for 40%, which made them a steal!!
