12.6" Iron Bird Feeder Black - Smith & Hawken™

I bought a few (maybe more) :) they are scattered around my back yard. Simple, modern design. The birds seem to like them as I've had more bird traffic. The only thing I don't care for is that they don't have drain holes. I think I can fix that with a drill and a small drill bit.

Beautiful modern look. Sturdy and well worth the price.

The feeder is balanced well and seems to be well made. I like that the food sits inside and has a big enough space for birds to eat as well as the food being protected somewhat from rain. It’s a wonderful addition to my backyard.

Great for hanging under a porch or covered area. I put mealworms in it for my bluebirds. They were eating from it within an hour of me hanging it

Love the look of this feeder. Unfortunately after a month of use, it is already coming apart. Check the sides carefully before buying.

It is perfect for sunflower seeds that the Cardinals love so much.

This thing has turned me into a bird person!! I didn’t see that coming. It is so nice looking on a shepherds hook and well made. I find myself sitting in the backyard watching for birds to visit! I even bought a second one to place where I can see from the sofa when watching tv! It’s really very nice and the birds love it. It’s quite wide so sometimes they get in it and just hang out! I have even caught squirrels climbing up the hook to get to it.

This is a sturdy feeder for sure. The iron unit is well-assembled, with clean edges and quality workmanship that you would expect from the Smith & Hawken brand. That said, it is REALLY large. If your area has large birds, I suppose this is perfect. Or if you plan on having a flock of small birds line up for dinner. The area for the seed is open, so keeping it out of the windiest locations is a must. As is placing it somewhere that the squirrels won't be able to reach. Although, really, it would made an awesome squirrel feeder. Hang it in a tree, put in some walnuts and sunflower seeds and make a whole bunch of furry friends! Whatever you use it for, it appears to be something that will last a very long time!

This bird feeder is unlike any bird feeder I have ever owned. It looks amazing in my backyard oasis. I have it hanging on a shepherd’s hook. It holds a good amount of bird food. I look forward to watching the birds check out their new feeder!

This bird feeder is very plain, bulky and honestly kind of stupid looking. I personally wouldn’t buy ir or recommend it unless it costs almost nothing. The bulkiness makes it hard to place somewhere, where the bird can get into from either side. The color is bland as well. I haven’t placed it up since I live in New England and its cold but if I do I’ll probably put it in the back somewhere hidden because honestly its ugly.

The squirrels love it too unfortunately! But this open pan bird feeder is great with my tube bird feeders to expand the variety of birds I get. The towhees and cardinals, which would usually prefer eating seeds off the ground under my tube feeders, have been frequent visitors, along with our usual finches, nuthatches, and chickadees. It's hard to see in the product photos, but the feeder is actually quite wide. For reference, I'm located in east Tennessee.

I love the way this feeder looks. Its simplicity really helps it to blend in with the environment, while the ring on top was the perfect way to hang this from the shepherd's hook in our back yard, allowing us to place the feeder wherever we'd like. It's wide open access with ledges on either side and ring provides a great spot for a bird to take a moment to enjoy a snack. We love it, and hopefully the birds will, too!

I received this for free from the Hey, Bullseye program in exchange for my honest review. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to make of this. I don’t know that I would use it as an actual bird feeder - I think the squirrels in my neighborhood are too smart for it. However, we did find a lot of creative uses for this as decoration in our house. It’s still winter, so we limited ourselves to indoor uses, but we think it will eventually house a set of LED candles on a timer in our screened in porch. It would be a really nice addition! Here are some ideas what we did try: indoor centerpiece with LED candles and a”bird house” for our stuffed owl friend. See what you can come up with!

Up until this point, squirrels have destroyed just about every feeder we have used. I don’t see them breaking this one! I love the modern design and it’s large enough for the birds that frequent our yard. We are only just now starting to see the bird activity pickup as winter comes to a close. We can’t wait to see the birds enjoying our new feeder.

This is a super sturdy metal bird feeder. I love the modern look of it and it will look great with our black outdoor furniture. Unfortunately we have a lot of squirrels that love bird feed so we will likely use this to hold succulents.

I really like this bird feeder. It’s a great size. I am trying to attract birds to my back yard. So far I haven’t had any takers. But it’s definitely large enough for a few birds at once. I was worried that once it was filled with seeds it might be heavy, but it’s not at all. I have it on a four foot shepherds pole, and it’s perfect. It’s super easy to fill up, no need to take it down to fill. I drilled a drainage hole in the bottom since it’s out in the elements. I’m really hoping it’s truly rust resistant. I’m looking forward to hosting some birds!
