These unscented candles put off a strong chemical smell. I tested one at home before we had 80+ of them lit at an indoor wedding reception. The room it was it had a very strong chemical smell in it so we opted not to use them and returned the other unopened boxes. They would be great for outdoor use... see moreof rhonda's review
