DONT DO IT
If I could give it 0 stars I would. First, the picture is deceiving. You cannot put a whole chicken on the rotisserie. Per the instructions a "whole chicken" is 1000 grams (~2lbs), so basically you can do a small cornish game hen but thats about it. It also says you can put up to 6lbs on the skewer but Im not sure how. The design is terrible with regards to inserting and taking out the skewers. The coils on the bottom are exposed so smoke constantly whenever anything drips on it. I attempted to make a small (~5lb) chicken similiar to the one in the picture (I got it before I saw the 2lb chicken part in the instructions). It was a disaster. 0/10 do not recommend. The fire alarm kept going off, the chicken couldnt rotate because the skewers werent strong enough, I kept having to turn on the skewer rotation, wait for the chicken to turn and then turn it off so I could cook it evenly. I wanted to roast potatoes and carrots in the bottom with the chicken but because the drip pan goes UNDER the coils I couldnt put anything on it because if anything touches the coils they smoke and it burns whatever it touches. I truly do not understand the design concept with this machine. Also the picture is HIGHLY misleadinding because the flimsy skewers and weak machine cannot actually rotate a chicken that size...or any chicken really. The top part has a heating element but to open it your arm/hand is directly in the path of all the steam that comes up once you open the lid so I was trying not to burn myself on the steam every time I opened the lid. There is also no temp control on that top part so you get what you get with regards to how hot it gets. I really wanted this to work and was looking forward to being able to make my own rotisserie chicken and this thing was an epic disappointment.
