I love these plates! They are matte black, and not perfectly round which adds a unique, imperfect design that I love. I have “oil slick” or rainbow colored silverware and wanted black dishes to pair with them. These are exactly what I wanted.

Then, went to Target for batteries and left with a whole set of goodies for my cat, including this beautiful plate. My black cat LOVES it, eats all her food! I've purchased several sets of these in different sizes and colors. They are heavy but I was ok with that. But they chip like crazy so now I have all these dishes with horrible jagged chips that I'll need to just throw away. Very disappointing.

These plates FAR exceeded my expectations! They’re very dark black (a lot of companies just barely dip dye their ceramic) & they have amazing weight to them! Much heavier than any large plate I currently own which I love. Very cool, modern take on a a standard plate shape. I will be getting the whole set now!

I had the plate for one day and it chipped. Because it's stoneware, the chip is easy to see - it's not white like the glaze, it's grey. I also have some mugs and on the plates and mugs both, any kind of scratch will leave a slight black mark. Still like the design and idea but they don't seem to wear well.
