Love the look. It is sturdy and holds many books. As others have mentioned...you get one printed sheet of instructions that are basically useless. We built it bottom up but had to redo it. It would have gone much easier to build from the top up.
So I read the reviews before I bought this bookshelf. All of them said that the directions were awful. I then saw one that said they assembled it from the top down. So instead of even worrying about the mislabeled pieces I started to assemble it from the top down. Doing it this way was easier and didn’t take that long! If you buy this assemble it from the top down!
This shelf is nice perfect for my entry way!
The instructions really do suck. I was stuck for a bit then decided to ignore the instructions all together and figure it out on my own that was still a little difficult. Then I thought if there is one thing that is for sure is that the very top shelf has no wholes it's a clean surface so I decided to start building it upside down and Walla it was super easy! A few things to note is that all silver screws (IV Q fit) are facing inside I'll try to post pictures. And one last thing the styrofoam that's in the packaging is super messy!!
I read other reviews about the assembly and thought, how bad can it be? I'm here to tell you: it's BAD! I absolutely love the look of this bookcase now that it's together lol
I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the directions, or lack thereof. We moved to a new house last year so I have put together many pieces of furniture and this was by far the worst. It took me two hours (lots of leaving the room to regain my composure) and it should have taken 30 minutes. Just be prepared and have some patience and it will pay off in the end :)
These directions made NO sense. I had to guess and try to put things together by looking at an image of the bookcase. There is no way to distinguish what screws were meant for what and it was AWFUL. The bookshelf looks decent, it's a little short. I also have to be very careful if I move it anywhere. You could definitely find a better looking book case easier to put together.
Love this item now that it's finally put together. Two of the shelves were mislabeled and was almost done putting it together before I realized. Had to take the whole thing apart and put it back together correctly. Also wish the caps on the end were more natural colored to blend a little better. Overall it's a nice shelf.
