Q: Is this cabinet sturdy enough to hold albums?
submitted by - 3 years ago
A: Hi Mary - We're glad you stopped by to check out this stunning cabinet! The top and bottom shelves can each hold up to 55 lbs, and the two middle shelves can hold up to 50 lbs. I hope this works for your albums! - Stephanie
submitted byStephanie - 3 years ago
Target staff support
A: Yes, each shelf is a different height, but all tall enough to fit albums with some room to spare. I wouldn't fill them all the way because it would probably go over the weight limit for each shelf. I have one for my records but I'm thinking about buying a second one because they are all getting too full.

A: Hi Jane - Thank you for asking! The shelves on the 56.2" Hadley Library Cabinet with Glass Shell White - Threshold™ are fixed. I hope you have a wonderful day! - Lola
Looks nice but there’s no pre set drill holes and it only advises to use a screwdriver when you clearly need a drill to drill the screws into the wood.

This is a beautiful and sturdy cabinet. I turned it into a bar cabinet and modified the top shelf with a wine glass holder. We love it and get lots of compliments. The doors actually take some force to open, which is nice with a little one around.

I was worried it was damaged because the huge box had big tears in it and it was left out in the rain by FedEx but, was packed so well that there was nothing broken or damaged. All the parts were there took a little over 2 hours to put together. It is a beautiful sturdy cabinet for the money. Perfect for my Rae Dunn collection. Buy it!

Cute piece; doors will be malaligned without minor adjustments
4 out of 5 stars
DrCollins - 1 year ago, Verified purchaser
A cute, modern farmhouse piece with real glass. It took almost 2 hours to assemble with two people. We had to get creative on how to position the cabinet so that the doors would align — even after following all directions included in the instructional packet. We placed a small piece of cardboard in with the unit to elevate one back leg to help the doors close correctly.

Nice cabinet but has some issues
3 out of 5 stars
Jennifer - 1 year ago, Verified purchaser
I wanted to write this review to let anyone else know when they purchase: 1. Holes for wooden dowels were drilled too large, so the dowels provided just fell out. I bought some 1/4” dowels from a craft store and cut them to size to use instead. 2. Couple of the tempered glass panes have hairline cracks, little worried about future integrity. 3. It is extremely squeaky, the side glass panels run against the wood panels (pre fabricated) and squeak every time the door is opened. Overall the cabinet is good, and it works with our aesthetic. I didn’t attempt to return it as I work in the manufacturing industry and know once an item is deemed ‘defective’ it ends up in a landfill. So if it is in my capabilities to fix the item to use I will. In this case I was lucky :)

I love this piece of furniture. It’s perfect for what I needed and I will be buying another one when they go on sale again. It only took my husband about an hour and a half to put together. The doors are a little off but not too bad.

I absolutely love this cabinet! Very spacious, sturdy and beautiful! Somewhat difficult to put together, but honestly that was probably mostly out of fear of breaking the glass. I use mine to display some of the clay sculptures and items my children made for me years ago when they were little. I do think it is a little pricey and I only finally bought one after wanting it for a few years because it went on sale! I would buy multiple if they were a little less expensive.

I got a few days ago for 50% off. Especially for that price it is an amazing value! It took about an hour to assemble. I actually bought it to use as a hutch on our dresser so I cut the legs off. I painted the back panels to match our wall. I also replaced the knobs with handles, which I think make the doors much easier to open as the magnets that keep the door closed are really strong.

The cabinet looks cute, unfortunately it’s not sturdy and the doors are crooked. Totally defeats the purpose for me since I wanted to use it for my decor in my staging photos.

Pretty but takes time

Listen to the advice on assembly - plan to take your time and read the directions first. I've built a lot of furniture and this one took some time on my own. Propping up the doors to attach by yourself is the most frustrating part, but a pillow or two will work. If you do not square up the unit when you are putting the back panels on, the doors will be crooked. Even with careful assembly, there is still a gap between the top of the doors and the bookshelf frame- it almost looks like the top is warped but my level says it's fine (who knows, can't complain too much for the price) Also, no pre-drilled holes in the back for the panels and the ones for the door were sloppy - the plates used to attach the doors cover those tho. Photos from the center of my living room because I'm too tired to put it where it belongs tonight after assembly.
