As other reviewers have noted, this set contains different styles of towels and one of the styles does not absorb water at all. FYI for everyone who is disappointed in these: this is a Target brand so they'll accept a return within a year, even if it's used. So that's nice, at least.

Cute and mashed my kitchen. The ones that aren't striped are not that great at absorbing water. I use those mainly for decorations so really I only have three towels that actually get used.

The horizontal design cloths are NOT absorbent … at all. I tend to just use them to lay wet dishes on. It just smears the water around if you try and dry with them. I’ve even tried putting them in my bathroom as a hand towel and they just don’t do the job. Get “dingy” fast despite being washed frequently. Super bummed bummed because they’re cute.
