A: This item does not have a seal.
submitted byColdfire - 3 years agoA: There is no seal at all. It's a glass lid on a glass bottom. White cardboard separates top and bottom in packing so it won't get chipped.

Very cute! I use it to hold my laundry powder. I’ve also used one for my sourdough mother. I couldn’t get clarification about using it for homemade candles, so I tested it out in a safe place. The first candle I made in it was fine. I tried to make another and the glass started cracking from the heat of 3 wicks inside of it. Just an FYI!

This jar is so elegant, looks expensive, and keeps my cookies Fresh! Only con is the lid doesn’t have a suction to keep it down if traveling with something in it (I gave away as a gift), other than that it’s perfect, especially as a cookie jar.

I used this to store rat food, and it worked well enough. I can’t speak to if it kept the food fresh, but my rats never seemed to care. I will say I don’t like how it aligned. I wish it had a rubber ring around the lid to keep it aligned better and make the impact of putting it back on a little softer. Other than that, good quality and not offensive to the eye!

I agree with other reviews that these are not ideal for food storage as they do not have any seal/gasket. Certainly pretty and functional for other uses, but I won’t be using for food storage like I initially planned.
