It’s a cute umbrella but it’s not worth the trouble. It’s manual (there’s no crank) which isn’t practical for a 7.5ft umbrella. ESPECIALLY if you are shorter than 6ft tall, because you will not be able to reach the mechanism to open/close/adjust angles once it’s up if you are. I’m 5’3 and couldn’t even reach it using a step stool. I had to open it all the way, then put it in the umbrella stand, then the sun moved, as it does, and I had to unscrew the base, and take the whole thing down just to adjust it. Once I had the angle sorted (a guess), I had to hoist it back up and get it situated back into the base. I live by the beach and it was a nice, cool day today and I was still tired and sweating dealing with it. I imagined all the hot/humid/windy days ahead and realized there was no way I was going to do this every time I wanted to use this umbrella (or adjust it in any way) and so I took it down. It’s so large that I can also tell that trying to adjust it while it’s open and resting on the ground is going to break the ribs real quick. Finally, it’s not going back in the “carrying” bag it came in. I tried for 15 minutes and I’m going to have to return it with 30% (all that fringe) of it hanging out, so there’s no way I’d be carrying it to the beach/pool/garden easily. I gave it 2 stars bc it’s cute and if you plan to put it up and leave it up, adjusting it very minimally, it would work. Cute, but not practical.
