I really love this shelving unit. I put it in my bathroom to hold towels, washcloths, toilet paper, etc. It is pretty, very sturdy and fits in a pretty tight space. It was fairly easy to assemble and to move into place with my husband's help. I really love it and highly recommend.
As noted in almost all previous reviews, this shelf is not the easiest to put together and I hate that the instructions are pictures only and not in writing. However, once you get everything together it is a very nice, handsome piece of furniture and I had been wanting this shelving for a long time and it totally fits the bill in the space I needed it.
This was super frustrating to put together! The directions were not super clear and the bolts they used are just BARELY long enough. You have to manipulate the metal sides quite a bit to get everything to align. And why would they put the giant warning sticker on the top of a shelf instead of the underside or on the side? The finished results are decent and it was what I was looking for in a bookshelf, but the hassle of assembly would make me think twice.
Instructions are awful. Shelves don't have pre-drilled holes, so you need to drill your own holes to get the screws started. You have to line up the shelves with the frame as best you can, there are no guides. One of the metal pieces was bent when we opened the box. It's heavy, but not capable of holding more than 20lbs per shelf according to the manufacturer. The instructions don't make it clear which frame lines up with which side of the rectangular shelves (the pictures make the shelves look almost like squares), so if you mix up E and F pieces they might not line up correctly. It took my husband and I 3 hours to put this together. I'd find something more well made if it was easier to return.
It was a pain to assemble but what do you expect with a work of art like this. The instructions could use some help. Using all the washers is impossible to assemble that way. One washer is enough anyway.
