The top layer scraped off with our utensils on it. So we were eating the top layer of the plate-maybe it only happens with hot food?! But I wouldn’t recommend these plates for this reason.

The white coating and the paint of the Happy Birthday letters rub right off onto your food. It's pretty gross. If you're going to eat a cupcake off this plate, that might work, but if you are eating anything that will use a fork and knife, best to go with a different type of plate so you don't end up eating whatever this plate is made out of. It is a very pretty plate though.

Cute and simple design however the print started coming off while food was on the plates. Almost 100% sure all of our guests including myself ate whatever ink was printed on these plates. Definitely would not recommend for food.
