After having a patio for the first time, I really got excited and started buying lots of plants, these planters are absolutely perfect! I appreciate the self-watering function because if you are a plant newbie like I am, you may run the risk of overwatering your plants too much. The size is also perfect and the price point is excellent, it is literally the best deal that I could find.

Every year Target offers these beautiful pots! I was so glad to see this beautiful teal color. They are self watering which makes keeping your plant hydrated a breeze.

Green and orange are my favorite colors, so I bought a few different sizes of this pot in green and orange, though I wish the orange was more of a true orange rather than a lighter one. Still, they're super cute, but had issues with the soil not drying out even after leaving my plants without water for a considerable time in 115 degree heat. Tried to bottom water but it didn't seem to work and I switched to top watering and trying to dump out some of the water. Eventually, my apparently saturated soil started attracting unwanted visitors so I had to buy more soil and repot most of the plants. Did a little investigating and noticed the bottom didn't drain all the way. Made some holes on the bottom of the tray for my outdoor plants and I'm hoping for the best. Also the bottoms are hard to put on and even with a lot of force didn't go back on all the way. Dunno if I'd recommend. I'm new to having plants but low on funds so I needed cheap pots. I just hope my poor plants don't suffer as a result

Perfect self watering pot. Light weight and attractive.

There is nothing to wick the water up to the dirt. The opening to add water to the bottom is entirely too small. I have a small plastic watering thing, and I couldn't even use it. I don't know what they were expecting us to use? Something with basically a straw at the end? There is no way to drain the water from the bottom without a huge mess. I tried carefully tipping it. I had to empty the soil out and then pry the bottom off and made a huge mess. The rosemary cutting I had kept alive so well for over a year and through a prior transplant died after putting in this container. I do not recommend. Maybe it would be okay outdoors and if you completely disregard the self-watering claim.

If you haven’t tried these self-watering pits, go get some now! So good and easy to use. Just fill up with water once a month and your plants will love you!

These pots harbor insect breeding by holding water underneath. Disappointed.

I love these.. I don't actually use them as self watering.. I just use the bottom try to catch the extra water after watering and then dump it..

I have purchased many versions and many colors of these for my houseplants. Drainage functionality is great, and I actually underestimated it and root rotted some of my plants by adding extra coconut coir at the bottom to prevent soil from falling through, which was unnecessary and created problems. These are very lightweight, and I like that the footprint isn’t big. I personally don’t use the bottom watering ability, but I should because I occasionally get bought a of fungal gnats. The soil compartment just doesn’t seem to submerge all that much into the empty watering basin area though, which is partly why I haven’t tried watering them like that because I think you’d have to fill it all the way to get the water to make contact with the soil. Even without utilizing the bottom watering feature, these are a smoking deal. Difficult to paint though- I recommend sanding, then spray painting a neutral color before attempting to paint these. Plus since the plastic bends, I anticipate the paint applied could crack and look distorted. These aren’t meant to be painted.
