Lighting a candle at home can bring a warm and cozy vibe to your living space. This Lidded Glass Jar Crackling Wooden Wick Candle Coconut & Honey from Threshold is designed to ensure faster scent dispersion and a better burn. The clean-burning candle gives off a fresh scent that enlivens the surrounding air, and the wood wick softly crackles as it glows, bringing a warm ambience to your space.
Love the scent. It’s like a coconut creme brûlée. I was worried about the wick because of other reviews and I thought my candle was the same, but it turned out the wick was still lit. The flame burns very low and slow. It seems to make the candle have a longer life which I enjoy. 10/10 will buy again.
I love this smell and have gotten compliments from friends over the scent. The trick to keeping this wick going is trimming it a little bit before the first light.
My only con is that the candle definitely has a strange crackling sound. It's pretty mild.
The wooden wick will not burn for more than 3 mins before drowning in wax. This product is defective. I usually love Target candles but this one was a waste of money and I am sad I can't return it. The scent is lovely but the candle is useless. Buyer beware.
Overall, I really enjoy this candle. I love the sweet scent. It’s sweet without smelling fake or cloying Bonus; the container is super cute! One star less than perfect though for two small reasons. First, the wick was very tiny upon purchase and wouldn’t stay lit at first, so I just dug out a little bit of wax from around the wick and problem solved. Second, the wooden wick doesn’t sound quite like it’s crackling. It sounds more like farting... just being real.
First of all I know scents are subjective, but this is the most lovely candle. Most coconut candles smell overwhelming, very suntan lotiony and offgas a plastic smell. This one is subtle. It is strong enough to fill a room with a lightly sweet smell but not so strong that it can’t be on a bedside table or in a reading nook.
I am usually very turned off by “dessert” scents. I find them overly saccharine and they give me a headache, but I think that the grassy green tea balances it.
Scents I enjoy for reference: Macadamia Nut, Warm Spices, Rainbath by Nutrogena, Honey, Rum, Rootbeer, Coconut, Citru, Nag Champa, Copal. I would describe this scent profile as Tropical Autumn or Tiki Bar Christmas.
