About this item

Sela presents a critical edition of the Hebrew texts, accompanied by English translation and commentary of Ibn Ezra's (1089-1161) Re****** Hokhmah and Mishpetei ha-Mazzalot. The first is the summa and by far the longest of his astrological works, he says, the target of the most cross-references from the rest of his corpus, and the most influential, enjoying the widest circulation among Jews during the Middle Ages and after. By contrast, the second is his most obscure astrology text, one he he himself never refers to and the only book for which Ibn Ezra's authorship must be substantiated. Sela pairs them because they are both introductions to astrology. Annotation ©2017 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
