Designed for those that sit for long periods of time, the Serta Works Executive Office Chair with AIR Technology is rich with ergonomic enhancements to maximize comfort and wellness, so you can be more productive. Its lumbar with kinetic AIR Technology swivels and moves with you for dynamic support that actually helps improve your posture. Its sloping, waterfall seat cushion promotes circulation to decrease uncomfortable leg fatigue, and the pneumatic height and tilt adjustments can be customized with the right fit for you. But this chair is no slouch. Available in gray, cream and black and gray bonded leather, its sleek design gives any workstation the executive treatment.
This chair started out great. I do spend a fair amount of time on the chair at my desk for gaming and the like. Well I bought this chair back in November and am now sitting and waiting, in April, to see if some gorilla glue will fix the armrest of the chair or I might have to toss it. It split right where the front part of the arm comes down. Normally I sit near the front of the chair, and don't really sit against the back. When I do I favor the side that split. I am about 200 lbs, so not light but not overly heavy either. The other disappointing part is the seat. It has visible peeling around many of the seams so that the fake leather parts are coming off. Due to sweat or water or something, I dunno. It started out amazing and has just started to decay from the moment it came out of the box. I know it has a limited warranty, but I don't even think this is covered. Frustrating after spending $180 (got it on sale+red card) on a chair. I have had $50 chairs that have lasted longer!
I'm writing this review after only having the chair a few days, so I can't speak to how it holds up over time, but it took me about 45 minutes to assemble it, with a medium amount of effort. The chair itself is very comfortable, with lumbar support that is the selling point. Good quality for the price. Adjustable height, and there is an option to tilt adjust the back, although it's not working for me. That's the only real con, and I may figure out how to get that working soon. Another point is that the material feels good quality, but it is not a "leathery" feel, which I personally like because it means my skin doesn't stick to it. There is also good air flow through the back pieces. I bought this chair because I wanted a chair that was a higher tier than a basic chair and wasn't going to kill my back spending hours in it and I feel like I got what I needed in that regard for the price.
This chair was a great price (Even if it wasn't on sale) and is rather comfy. Cushioned in places that help me actually sit back in the chair. Most chairs I sit on the edge because the back offers little support to my bad back. The only negatives to for me: I wish the seat part of the chair was just a bit deeper. I do wish the pneumatic part sat a little deeper into the chair. It does wiggle just a bit, but it really it minor.
Everything about this chair had to be put together. Even the simplest items were not assembled. To top it off, they give you an allen wrench to tighten all the many screws. The quality isn't so great as one of the arms has overspray of paint on the leather and there are scratches and rough parts on the arms. So far, the chair seems comfortable enough but it does not seem very substantial. I will see how long it lasts, but I got such a good price I will be happy if it lasts a year or so.
