Description
This Alikay Moist Black Soap Shampoo is a game changer. Traditional cleansers tend to strip your hair of its natural moisture, leaving it dry and itchy. This sulfate-free shampoo is different and it cleans and moisturizes at the same time. Made from natural raw black soap, it gets down deep into the scalp to remove buildup. The tropically scented blend contains a natural mix of plantain skins and tea tree oil that protects and moisturizes the hair from scalp to end.

Q: What is the PH of this shampoo?
submitted by KeepITnatural - 6 years ago
A:Â I do not know the pH but when I used the shampoo my coils clumped.
I love this shampoo. I've been seeing this for years and finally decided to try it and I am glad I did. What I like about this shampoo is it really does clean your hair and moisturize at the same time (really). What I like most is there is no strong fragrance and it is gentle on my scalp/skin. I have dermatitis which leaves my skin ridiculously sensitive, and I do not get a negative reaction what so ever from using this product. For me that is a big deal it cleans my scalp and hair. This is my go to shampoo. I do have to agree with some of the other reviews this is a very watery shampoo. Do not tilt the bottle over your head like other shampoos, start by carefully adding a few drops all over your head working that in and adding more as needed.

It left my locs feeling refreshed and clean. It’s a bit on the watery side (which the manufacturer makes very clear in their description) but that’s one of the things that I love about it. It doesn’t feel heavy on my hair. It also smells AMAZING!!!

This shampoo is super moisturizing for it to be considered a clarifying shampoo although it isn’t called that.

This shampoo is okay. It’s not too bad, but you’re gonna have to adjust the nozzle because MAN is this shampoo watery. It does clarify my hair pretty well, but I suggest using a pre-poo when you use this one (well, mainly every time you use a shampoo. But, for this one, it’s a MUST.) I was going back and forth with deciding on whether to give it 3 stars or 4, but because it’s so watery, I’m giving it a 3. I used close to 1/3 of the bottle because it’s so watery.

It worked great as a scalp detox for me. It also did not leave my hair dry after using. Pair this with their Caribbean Coconut Conditioner, it will work wonders!

This product really helped to relieve my very itchy scalp and dandruff problems in just one use which was an amazing surprise. However I only gave it 3 stars because I am not a fan of the scent and it made my hair very dry and tangled.

I have 4b hair and often cowash my hair. However I have struggled with finding a good shampoo that will remove product build up when I use various stylers. Prior to this the only product I was using to effectively cleanse without stripping my hair, was the Deva Curl Build Up Buster, which is very expensive. I have found that this product works just as well, for much cheaper. It is a much thinner consistency but if you focus on squeezing it with the applicator on the top of the scalp the rest runs down the strands and gives a pretty decent lather. I still haven’t managed a way to not waste some of the product given the consistency though.

First off, the ingredients are amazing. Secondly, the shampoo may be watery, but it works like a charm! My scalp and hair are super clean, but not stripped. All the thick butters I use wash away, but my hair is still moisturized. Thirdly, this smells divine, like pineapple and fruit/Hawaiian punch. The only downside is that I use 1/3 of the shampoo in one wash. For reference, I have thick, coarse, low porosity, 4b-4c hair.

Loved it, didn't leave my hair feeling so stripped. I use a lot of silicon and this got all the build up out of my hair. I will say depending on how much you use, hair length, and hair type it runs out fast. I wash my hair in 6 sections shampooing twice, so this would last me about 3 hair washing days ( around 3 weeks). I have 4a/4b natural hair thats very course, thick, and kinky and around 12inches.

It got my hair nice and clean, and it has a nice smell. However, I required lots of product in order to get a decent lather. I don't think this product will last more than 3-5 washes, so I would rather make my own African black soap shampoo. I did really like the applicator tip. It is very useful for this thin, runny formula. I've heard rave reviews on the lemongrass leave-in, and I can't wait to try it.

This shampoo soothed my itchy scalp and got it clean—no more flakes or build up. Even so, it didn't strip my hair, 2which felt super soft after I used it. The applicator top is great for allowing you to apply a small amount directly to your scalp. This may be my new staple!

It's a neat concept, its very watery and you need a good amount to lather your hair. This shampoo formulation does not work well for my 4a hair, leaves it stripped, and tangled.

This shampoo at first look. Why is it so watery? But let me tell you this has by far the best lather! This product you don't have to use to much to clean your scalp. A little goes a long way don't let the watery substance fool you!

Shampoo has very good scent on the liquid side as far as viscosity and it's not stripping at all leaves the hair soft which is not common when it comes to shampoos

This shampoo is so thin, like water. I had to use so much of it just to get a lather. Its expensive for that read on. It will not last lon g. Unless you have short thin hair, you may get it to last, but anything shoulder length or longer, a lot seems to be needed. You also have to squirt it directly on hair, its to liquid like to put in palm. It smells great, packaging is great, and cute, but there are other sulfate free natural products out there much better with ugly packaging, but are at least effective. Won't be buying this product again.
