A laminated backing ensures spills and stains do not ruin your mattress. Filled with recycled hypoallergenic polyester fiberfill, this mattress pad provides superior comfort. This product is machine washable for easy care and continued use.
This mattress pad is amazing! I've been looking for a good mattress pad for my almost 5 year old for a while. Most nights he stays dry but there are nights where he may still have an accident. We only had it for about one night before the waterproof feature was tested. When I pulled the sheet up, there was a huge wet spot on the top of the pad. Whilst praying really hard, I slowly pulled the mattress pad from the mattress and the mattress was COMPLETELY dry! The backing of the pad wasn't wet at all. So, after rejoicing, I put it in the washer and dryer and it washed perfectly! I washed and dried it per the instructions and didn't have any issues. The instructions do say "For best results use large capacity front loading washer and dryer". I don't have either of those so I just wash and dry the pad by itself. It does take a little bit of extra time to dry, possibly because I don't have the front loading dryer. Since this first time, my son has had about 4 accidents. I've washed and dried it every time and it still has worked and held up perfectly! I'm so happy to have finally found a good one that works!
so far so good. just put it on the bed for my 2.5 yr old niece. Appears to be well made, good quality. Has its own padding. Deep fit. My niece hasn't wet the bed yet to test the most important component of this mattress protector.
FYI, the "recycled hypoallergenic fiber" it is filled with is polyester. Pretty shady that they don't disclose that in the description. This is going back to the store because it isn't actually 100% cotton/natural fibers. It's filled with yucky synthetic fibers that just make you hot and won't actually regulate your body temperature like cotton or wool. It was a waste of my time... I wish Target would be more attentive to the details!
If it all possible, I would like to return/be refunded for this item. Just disintegrated in my dryer (on lowest heat) on only the 3rd wash. I've had this on my daughter's bed for less than 6 months and it is now officially unusable. The interior lining rolled up like a crumpled tissue.

I was delighted to find an organic mattress cover at Target so bought one for each of my beds. Sadly, when I washed the full size one it smelld like some type of toxic material. I've encountered this smell before in a variety of different fabrics, including a bra, but not in an organic item. No idea what causes the smell, but I could never stand to use anything that smelled so bad. Very odd when the cover is organic cotton; makes me wonder if it really is organic. (I did follow directions on washing)
