My little one has a lot of tummy problems so I find myself wanting to make her food from scratch so that I can control what she is eating to help ease her tummy pain. However, as a working mom with a teenager in the house, that is a hard thing to do in reality. I have started to buy organic food for my daughter instead of making it. She can be a picky eater though. She loved Amara Organic Baby Food Oats N Berries. She finished the whole packet as fast as I could get it in her mouth. I try all the food I feed my baby and I also loved it! The flavor was sweet without being over the top thanks to the berries. My daughter is allergic to bananas so I enjoyed finally finding something without banana that still tastes great. The oats were broken down small enough that my daughter was able to swallow it but still large enough that there was a nice texture to the mix. I found myself wanting to steal packets to put with my yogurt! The box came with 5 packets that each make one meal when mixed with water, formula, or breastmilk. It was easy enough to mix that it took less than one minute. The box recommends adding 4-5 tablespoons of liquid but I found that made the texture almost smoothie like. My little one enjoys more of a pudding consistency so I only added 3 tablespoons and it was perfect! The price point is perfect for the delicious, easy meal that it is. It is reasonably priced for the wonderful quality you receive. I highly recommend trying this brand, for the quality, and the amazing taste. Both my daughter and I fully approve! Thank you to weeSpring Parent Panel for sending me this formula to try and review.
I feel like it is hard to get good vegetables for my baby. I always see lots of fruits and sweeter vegetables but I want my baby to enjoy green vegetables and not get too only eating sweet fruits and vegetables. In the past, I have sometimes made my own baby food, and while I do not mind doing that, it definitely is time consuming. When I was offered this product through weeSpring Parent Panel, I was so excited for my baby to try something new and to have access to more vegetables without me having to make it! The fact that it is organic is just another plus! The food comes in a convenient little package that is easy to throw in a bag and bring anywhere. I also like that as I am exposing baby to the new food, I can combine it with my breastmilk so that she still has those nutrients! When I first mixed up the packet, I was a little nervous by the color, while I want my baby to try green vegetables, this mixed up to a very bright green. I was also nervous about how baby would react because she didn't like potatoes the last time she tried them. I gave her a bite and while it took her a second to figure it out, she really liked it! I think that the added sweetness of the banana balanced with potato and kale! The texture was similar to her oatmeal, so she I think that was helpful as well! The price is a little more than I tend to spend on food for my baby which is why I only gave this 4 stars instead of 5. Overall it is a great, convenient product!
I really hoped my baby would love Amara baby food. I love their mission to create wholesome, organic, well-balanced foods - all while saving moms (me!) time in the kitchen. Prepping the food was super easy, by just pouring it into a bowl, adding water, and microwaving for a short time.
The food did have a strong smell and my baby (9 months old) was not keen on the taste or texture. It seemed a bit too chunky, or maybe that was because she wasn't trying very hard to chew. She was only trying very hard to get it our of her mouth! I did attempt to mix in some applesauce when we tried again the second day, thinking a bit of sweetness might would help. No luck.
I am quite sure Amara's health claims are accurate, but this product made for a very negative feeding experience. I am thankful that I received this product to review through the weeSpring Parent Panel, as I will not be buying this flavor or recommending it to friends.
I was given this Baby Food to try as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel. Of course I loved it. The texture of this is so good. Now the texture was like mmm.. I don’t think he might like this but once I feed him he just devour it. I was surprised because he normally hates anything that have peas. I can make it a bit chunky or watery, depending of what my little one can eat it. Now let’s talk about how this is made from organic products and non gmo. Omg! One of the best thing you can hear because who doesn’t want to give the best to their kids when is about food. Of course me! Lastly I love the fact that this is somewhat as close you can get to getting a proper meal when being in a hurry. I say this because I have a 3 year old toddler and a 9 month baby and when their hungry. There will never have patients to wait for that snack to be prepared properly.
While I was pregnant, I always KNEW I would be the type of mom who made organic, fresh food every day, from scratch for my precious little baby. Anything less would be neglectful. Oh man. Wow. Life happens. Sleep deprivation, full time job, husband etc. I now laugh at my good but oh so unattainable intentions. Now I have adapted- I do what I can to show my baby I love her with all my heart. I LOVE the ease and convenience of these Amara meals. They are simple- all you do is tear open the packet, sprinkle into a bowl and add liquid (for us, water or breastmilk). My baby really liked this, and she is usually picky. I finished feeding her one packet and she actually requested another. She liked the consistency; but I also had to add a little more water midway through the feeding so it still stayed a little more runny consistency.
This product is wonderful. No additives, preservatives sugar etc. only good stuff. I don’t feel guilty about my baby not getting wholesome nutrients just because I don’t have time. Now it’s nice that my baby can have a meal she loves and is healthy/nutritious.
I received this food through the weeSpring parent panel and was very excited to try it. My baby is 7 months old and I’ve been looking for diverse foods to feed her. I typically make my own baby food by blending what ever my family is eating for dinner. But lunch and breakfast options are harder to find. Knowing this was organic and made from real, preservative free food was a positive. I’m not sure if my baby liked it though. The servings seemed really large and she never finished the whole serving. It’ll tried some myself and it tasted like berries, but maybe she wasn’t keen on the oatmeal texture with the smooth fruit. I would purchase this product on my own, as they say to be persistent in giving baby things, and I wasn’t concerned about the extra, icky ingredients that sometimes act as preservatives in many baby foods. It was incredibly easy to make and the option to make it thicker and thinner was an added bonus..
I received Amara Organic Baby Food Tropical Mango through weeSpring Parent Panel for free. I was skeptical to try it at first as I have been making all of my sons food up until this point. I used these packets when I was traveling this past week and they were super convenient and helpful to have. My son really enjoyed the flavor and the texture was very similar to the other food I’ve made for him. I was a little turned off by the fact that the food is a powder that needs to be mixed with liquid but of course it makes it less perishable and easy for on the go use. The ingredients state that it is just mango and banana which is nice to know there is nothing added. I will continue to make food for my son for everyday use but I would definitely use the Amara organic baby food again for convenience in a pinch or while traveling. Thanks weeSpring parent panel!
I received a free sample of Amara Organic baby food Tropical Mango as part of the WeeSpring Parent Panel. I loved that it contained two ingredients- just organic mangos and bananas! The way they make this brand, through dehydration, means is doesn’t need to contain preservatives. The food comes in a pouch and you rehydrate it with water, breastmilk, or formula, which allows you to adjust the thickness to your baby’s preference. It only takes about 30 seconds to make up. It’s great for traveling, the pouches are slim and easy to pack- perfect for airplane travel or to slip into a diaper bag! I think it’s a great alternative for when you don’t have time to make your own baby food or for a child that has an allergy to citrate (a common organic baby food preservative).
My daughter really loves Amara’s potato kale mash flavor. She didn’t take to the Mango flavor right away. I made it up with water and it smelt fresh! The Mango flavor is predominant. We had much better luck when I made it up with breastmilk! The back of the box also has a smoothie recipe on the back for older kids. They suggested mixing the pouch with coconut water and ice. I made this for a friend’s daughter who’s three and she loved it! I’m happy I found a baby food that will grow with my daughter.
