I'm honestly baffled by the glowing reviews for this game. It's an impelling concept, but the execution is disappointingly terrible. Some of the riddles are good, but quite a few are basically children's jokes. For instance, "What is the only thing elephant's can make? - baby elephants". The bigger problem though, is that about half of the medium difficulty card decks and two-thirds of the difficult cards decks are what I would refer to as 'cyphers' where each letter is given a numerical value and you have to solve the puzzle given only the numbers and locations of the vowels. This would be doable if there was any pattern whatsoever to the letters, but after a solid half hour pouring over these cards, there's no discernible pattern. It's just a guessing game at that point. And the kicker is, each turn is supposed to have a one minute time limit. I've attached photos of these cards for reference - see if you can figure out how on earth these are supposed to be solved and not just guessed at. Lastly, there's not a lot of repeat-ability if you have a good memory. I would not recommend this game.
Awesome game, but agree, it needs more cards/expansion packs! The person who said you can win the game without getting a single question correct is wrong and needs to read the instructions better...you don't move at all until you answer something right! And as for the comment on repeatability, don't read the question out loud so the other team doesn't know the question, and don't give the answer if it isn't guessed correctly so the other team doesn't know the answers (and dont always choose to play "eye" cards or always choose to play "key" cards...switch it up!) This helps give you more opportunities to play without repeating too many cards.
If you like riddles, you may like this game, but there are a lot of problems with how the game is played. Examples: One, there are game pieces for 4 teams, but the rules only explain the play for 2 teams. Two, the riddles are grouped as easy, medium, and hard, but the riddles did not seem appropriately labeled as such. Three, it is possible to win the game without getting a single riddle correct. Four, the riddles are difficult, but once you have played the game two or more times you will know most of the answers already. Those are just a few examples. Overall, the directions are vague and incomplete. I plan to return the game.
Only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that it needs more cards for more playability. After playing eight rounds in two days (my daughter and I enjoyed it that much) we have seen all the cards. Would love to see update packs released
This is an awesome game. I bought it for my sister for Christmas. We played it with two big teams. We had a blast. Some of the red cards are a bit difficult, but it a challenge. As a family we would highly recommend it!!
The box and game pieces are excellent quality. The board is flimsy and out of place with how nice the rest of the game is, but it makes sense when you find out it folds out multiple ways. The game play itself is fun if you like riddles, but there's zero repeatability to it. Once you've seen a card you know the answer.
