A: Hello Kathleen, you want to know what does the sync module do and what it looks like in the Amazon Blink 1080p WiFi Outdoor 5-Camera System. The Sync Module receives information from the Blink servers through your local Wi-Fi, and sends commands to system devices with a Low Frequency Radio, the cameras receive information from the Sync Module, then send images and notifications through your local Wi-Fi is what the sync is used for with the Amazon Blink 1080p WiFi Outdoor 5-Camera System and it is a square. The sync module can also be used Local Storage, the Sync Module 2 has an active Type-A port to insert a USB drive between 1 GB and 256 GB in size. You can save clips to USB from "eligible" cameras, which are the Blink Video Doorbell, Outdoor, Indoor (gen 2), and Mini cameras, and view them in the Blink app. Hope this has answered your question. At the start of your trial, you will see a carousel which guides you through the benefits of subscription plans. A: Hi Blink! The Sync module needs to be plugged in using the included power cable. Wi-Fi is a main component of your Blink system. Blink requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Internet connection with a minimum of 2 Mb per second (2Mbps) upload speed (from your network to the internet). Assuming standard construction techniques (single building, no unusually dense construction materials) the Sync Module should be able to communicate with Blink cameras up to (and perhaps over) 100’ away in any direction. We also recommend keeping the Sync Module near your wireless router for best signal strength. Thanks for your questions, have a great day!

This is a very nice security system. The pics/video is very clear, and there is a 2 way radio built in the system, so you can hear and talk through the camera. It has night vision which is clear as well, and motion detection. I would definitely buy again.

I really like the fact that the video clips can be stored on a 64 MB USB drive. I certainly didn’t want to pay a monthly subscription fee to store and view my recordings, like some of the other brands out there. The sensitivity of the Infrared Sensor is pretty dang good too! It seems to trigger an alert and start a recording when motion is detected within a distance of up to 25 feet. The recording quality is great in both daylight and night vision modes. I carefully masked my cameras and painted them and the optional mounting brackets that I purchased so that they match and blend in with the color of the vinyl siding on my house. My cameras are now much less noticeable when someone approaches my doors. I recommend getting a set of optional mounting brackets, the Synch module bracket for your electrical plug, and a 64 MB USB drive so that you have everything you need for a good installation and the ability to locally store your saved video clips. Highly recommend if you are looking to keep your family and belongings safe! This definitely gives me peace of mind as a homeowner.

Setting up the system was a little challenging on my phone. I couldn’t get the sync module to connect at all on my phone. Then I tried It on my iPad and was able to connect without a hitch. I wouldn’t have known to try that if I didn’t google the symptoms for a while though. The cameras were easy to set up and mount. They have a swivel connection so you can adjust the angles to your needs. So far I haven’t had any trouble receiving photos or video when I’m away from home so it’s doing it’s job as far as I can tell. It’s definitely not a high end system but for what it’s worth, you can’t ask for much more. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Setup was a breeze. The Blink app is very user friendly and walks you through the quick setup. The cameras are easy to mount and look sleek. They are battery-powered and weatherproof, so they don’t need to be near an outlet and can be mounted anywhere. I like that I can arm the cameras to get alerts through the app and disarm them when I know there will be people walking back and forth and don’t want to be disturbed. You can customize the motion zones so you can be alerted, there is a two-year battery life, you can view live in HD day or night, and record & store video clips to the cloud storage or to the Blink Sync Module 2. It is definitely weather resistant. We have had some freezing rain and the camera system still works great. They have problems with WiFi and modular connectivity . Do your research don’t get this you’ll be sorry that you waisted your time installing. After I had multiple issues and trying to fix them I did more in-depth research not worth the money.

I love that you can say hear and speak to visitors with live view and in real time on the two way audio feature in the app ,that’s something I haven’t seen before.You can either store the video clips in the cloud with a blink subscription plan and save them locally to the blank sync module 2 via a USB flash drive you have to buy that separately. But most of all what I love about this product is voice activated and you can monitor your home through supported devices but most of what mattered to me is that I feel safe in my home and you can’t put a price tag on that.
