Q: Will this only work if wi-fi has a password or can it work on unsecured wi-fi connections as well?
A:Â Hello, Blink requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Internet connection. One important reason is because cameras use Wi-Fi to send images and notifications. Blink systems minimally require a high speed connection of at least 2 Mbps upload speed.

You should have no issue connecting to a Wi-Fi connection that is unsecured without a password if those stipulations are met, though it is highly advised not to. An unsecured connection can be accessed by anyone and no device on a Wi-Fi connection like that is safe. I hope that helps answer your question and that you have a terrific day!

Q: If I’m reading this right, you need a usb plug in for cameras?
A:Â Hi there, The Blink Mini cameras do not require a USB outlet specifically, but only a standard power outlet. They will come with the standard plug to USB adapter and cable to power them.
submitted byBlink - 2 years agoBrand expertA:Â Hello Marker! You do not need a USB plug in to use these cameras as they only require an electrical outlet and WiFi in order to be utilized. The outdoor model of camera does require the Sync Module but the indoor Mini's do not. In order to save recorded video, you would need to have a Blink cloud storage plan for $2.99/month but it is not required to use. Having a Sync Module gives the added option of using a USB flash drive to store recorded video. So the Sync Module is an optional device with benefits but not a mandatory device for this model camera. Great question! I hope this helps and that you have a phenomenal day!
