This gallery-wrapped art piece features a large tree with low-hanging limbs. Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured a hidden, wooden frame. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting.
I loved the way this looked online, pretty greens and blues, bright & very natural looking. But sadly, in person it it quite a bit darker with a lot of black and brown, and is very shadowed. It is a photo-like canvas lightly stretched and stapled onto a lightweight wood frame, and whomever was doing the stapling that day, must have run out of staples! (Easy enough fix, we’ll just add a few more with a staple gun... just speaks to the quality) It needs at least 5 or 6 more staples to lay smooth and hold in place along the bottom. Also, around the sides of the canvas/ frame is black which gives it an even darker look/feel. (We plan on putting this in an area where it will be walked by, and so it will show. If it were just on a wall where you’d only view it straight on, this wouldn’t matter much, if at all) It came packaged well, arrived promptly, and was a great sale price when I ordered. I just wanted to love it like I did when I first saw the image online. I might try and do what another reviewer mentioned about placing strand lights behind the canvas to try and brighten it up.
