Wireless monitoring and sophisticated design give concerned parents the ultimate peace of mind. Angelcare's AC017 Baby Breathing Movement Monitor allows parents to relax while baby is resting. This simple system monitors breathing movement while baby is resting. Angelcare designs the best-selling, most-trusted movement monitors in the world. Our patented Baby Breathing Movement Sensor Pad is designed to be placed under baby's crib mattress where it senses subtle movements while baby sleeps. All of our baby breathing monitoring systems alert parents if no movement is detected after 20 seconds.
I used the product for two days and both times I had to turn it off halfway through the night as the alarm kept going off. This product stated that my baby stopped breathing 8 times over two nights. I was in the room when 2 of the times the alarm went off, my baby was breathing fine. If the product worked it still has two major flaws which baffles me how the creators thought these where acceptable. 1) When you put the baby to bed, you then turn on the machine- it has the loudest beep EVER!!! Waking the baby and the rest of the street. Who thought this was a good idea? It already flashes blue to say it’s on why do I need the loudest beep so my neighbours also know? 2) great news is it has a pause function so if you need to feed or comfort the baby you can pause it HOWEVER it then beeps EVERY 20secs during the pause. So if I’m up feeding for 45mins I have to listen to the constant beeping. Again it already flashes white so why do I need to the torturous beeping. The people that created this product obviously do not have babies.

We are sorry that you are unhappy with your monitor and following this we would like to kindly explain what the functions that you have mentioned are for. To begin, we want to reassure you that if you are hearing the Alarm from your monitor it indicates that your monitor is working as it should - the Nursery Unit is not receiving any signals from the Sensor Pad to indicate movement is detected so the monitor is alarming. We would like to add that Angelcare Movement Monitors do not monitor your baby’s breathing, they monitor your baby’s movements on the surface of their mattress – whether the rise & fall of the upper chest area or the subtle movements that we all make when we are asleep. Your Angelcare Monitor is set to alarm once it does not detect your baby`s movements on the surface of their mattress after 20 seconds. If the monitor alarms and, as you have said baby is moving, in such instances the sensitivity may need adjusting. The Sensor Pad can detect movement over the whole of the surface of your baby’s mattress, from corner to corner if it is at the correct level. It may even be that the sensitivity has accidentally been changed on the Nursery Unit, this can happen. Therefore, we need to establish why this is occurring, whether your Sensor Pad is at the correct level for your baby`s mattress so can you please carry out the “Four Corner Test”. Kindly see the following link to be directed to the help centre on the Angelcare UK website for this simple test: https://angelcare.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360024002331-AC017-How-can-I-check-my-monitor-s-sensitivity-level-is-correct-for-my-baby-s-mattress We would also advise that you check the mattress compatibility as, all Angelcare Sound and Movement Monitors are designed to monitor the movements of your baby over the surface of your baby’s mattress, from corner to corner. They can be used in a standard cot/cot bed. The Sensor Pad is always placed under the mattress in the middle, wherever baby lies. It detects your baby’s movements and therefore you must take into consideration the thickness of the mattress and also the amount of layers your baby is wearing when put to bed. Too many layers and/or a thick mattress could affect the Sensor Pad’s ability to monitor your baby effectively. However there is no actual minimum/maximum thickness or brand that is recommended. This is because the sensitivity of the Sensor Pad can be adjusted to suit most different sleeping arrangements/mattresses. Unfortunately due to the volume of mattresses available in the market, in store & on-line it is not possible to test every one available with an Angelcare Sensor Pad. In addition to this manufacturers often change the composition of the mattresses for many reasons and this would mean that we could be providing incorrect information. For further advice on actual mattress compatibility and other FAQs for your movement monitor click the link below to be directed to this advice in the help centre on the Angelcare UK website: https://angelcare.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360003309372-Is-my-Angelcare-baby-monitor-suitable-to-use-with-my-baby-s-mattress- With regards to the beep when you switch on the Nursery Unit when putting baby to bed. This is the Nursery Unit & Sensor Pad establishing the connection to ensure that baby`s movements are being monitored when placed in the cot. Lastly, when the monitor is paused so that you can take baby out of the cot, the beeps that you hear are an audible reminder that the monitor is on hold. This is a reminder so that in the event that when you place baby back in the cot it reminds you that you have not activated the movement function. This reminder is on all Angelcare Movement Monitors. This product is okay but it keeps going off when my son is literally still breathing laying there. So then it wakes him up because it won’t stop beeping. The cost is up there for something that doesn’t work properly.
I have had 2 different models this one showed breathing when my son was out of his crib and showed that it was correctly connected to the sensor pad. I have to turn off the camera and the screen each time for it to work correctly. I love angel care but this item has a serious flaw and it is disappointing. I purchased this and didn't use it until we had our second child and by then the warranty is up so it's my fault on that end, but with it basically being new it's still a disappointment and my mind isn't put at ease like our first angel care monitor. My first one didn't have a camera but we had a Motorola camera in his room along with the angel care and the Motorola camera is amazing. If they fixed the flaw with the sensor and had a Motorola like camera it would be the best baby monitor in the market.
Please do not purchase this product. I bought this as a first time time hoping it would provide some peace of mind. I started having issues with my unit almost immediately. My child would not be in the crib and the sensor pad would be turned on and it would appear as if my daughter was on the pad breathing and moving. It is supposed to go off after 20 seconds of no movement. I emailed angel care hoping they could help and they advised it was my mattress. I went online and saw numerous reviews on many different websites where parents state they had the same issue. Yesterday I left the parent unit on my bed and went to the emergency room with my infant. Upon coming home screen is black out and appears cracked. I did leave my unit on bed. I went online and multiple parents state same thing has occurred to them. If you don’t believe please simply google angel care parent unit screen black out. As per customer service they will do nothing for me other than charge me $80 for a replacement unit. I have vowed to let all parents know what a horrible product this is so they don’t go through as many sleepless nights as I have with this terrible product. I do not recommend this product to anyone. Please do your research before spending $ on this.
I am so glad I bought this as I have finally started to be able to sleep 6 weeks later. It is so easy to set up. I have not had any false alarms so far and every time I take the baby out and forget to turn it off it goes off. The constant beeping on pause is pretty annoying so my suggestion is to just power off the alarm for feedings and power back on when done. Probably saves battery also. This product also has no cords to deal with which is great. If yo start getting false alarms with baby in adjust the sensitivity. This is definitely worth the price.
I bought this monitor as an alternative to the owlet. I work in health-care so I know a pulse ox is a great way to keep track of baby's health. However the owlet was way too expensive and had terrible reviews. I just wanted something to track my baby's breaking in case he accidently rolled on his belly or like some babies do, just forgot to breathe in deep sleep. I've been using it with no alarms for nearly two months until last night. I ran into my baby's room and lifted up a sound asleep baby who had forgotten to breathe. He startled awake and took a big breath. I started crying in relief. I'm so thankful for this monitor. I feel like it saved my baby's life. I can sleep even sounder now knowing it really does work. Thank you angelcare!
