These run a bit small, but that also depends on where you want to compress. I'm coming off of a baby bump, and find that it does an adequate if not pretty good job of smoothing things out. However, like a lot of corsets, the bones in front are not in a good spot, causing pressure on the front of my hip bones, which causes a nerve pressure point to fire (I am a costumer, and see this on lots of corsets). Other than that, it is surprisingly comfy for its length. I'd buy this over shorter corsets.

Thanks for your answer. Annette's extra firm shapewear is made with strong yet light fabric that help you dramatically shape your waist, tummy and hips ( you will see that you trimmed 1-2 inches before and after wearing it). This is the reason most people need to size up so comfort is not compromised. Basically if you are a pant size 0-2, wear XS, Size 2-4=S, Size 4-6=M, Size 6-8=L, Size 8-10=XL, Size 10-12=2XL, Size 12-14=3XL and size 14-16=4XL.
