I very rarely go out of my way to write reviews, especially negative or mediocre ones, but I felt really compelled to share my experience. We LOVE open ended, creative play and I had such high hopes for this play set. Just opening the box I was immediately taken by how light and unsubstantial the structural rods are. This concern was reiterated when, during the construction, the pieces didn’t soundly lock into place and were easily dislodged. What was most frustration was the laughably inadequate assembly directions. When I constructed the ship (which I did myself as a college educated, career professional in my 30s) I had to retrace my steps at least 3 times because: 1- the rod colors are incredibly difficult to distinguish in the comically small diagram 2- there is just enough inset detail on orienting the connectors that I audibly questioned if the vendor was trying to be cruel and ironic 3- there is zero - repeat NADA - direction AT ALL on how to attach the cover, which TIES on. Seriously? For this much money, you couldn’t find a better way to attach the PRIMARY SELLING POINT? After walking around, staring at the box, walking around some more, quietly mumbling to myself, and a few stabs in the dark, I finallt attached it after 2 wrong attempts. Assembly literally made me feel like I was competing in a puzzle challenge on an episode of survivor. Thank goodness I wasn’t. I would have been voted off the island. After putting it together, I was already listing which of my children’s friends would not be allowed to play in it because they would destroy it. If you want to use it more than once, this wouldn’t be appropriate for more than 2 well-behaved kids. Max. In all seriousness, this is a super cute and awesome idea but somewhere along the line someone traded in quality for quantity. For the money, I had MUCH higher expectations. The good news is that with some rod beefing, serious re-structuring of the assembly instructions (I mean - come on! Splurge and add, like, another 2 steps and maybe a third page!), better distinguishing rod colors, and more ergonomic cover connectors, this thing could be well worth the money AND I would easily buy add-on kits and other covers. As is, save your money NOW and wait for the manufacturer to improve the product. If you got it as a gift, fret not. It’s pretty cool if you didn’t pay for it. TLDR: A+ for concept. Maybe C- for execution. Not worth the money.

Zero stars. Horrible quality for the price. Defective pieces in box upon opening. Customer service told me to buy my own replacement parts. Worst birthday present ever.

My three year old son loves this! Easy to put together and fun for creative play. When assembled, the ship takes up a good amount of space. However, is very light and easily can be moved around. I received this item in exchange for honest review.

This set comes with absolutely everything that you need. I was a bit worried how hard this would be to put together but my 6 year old was able to do most of it by himself. All of the parts are color coded with the instructions so he had no issues. The only complaint I had which is super minor and could be something I overlooked, I didn't see any instructions for putting the tarp/cover on. So I did need to step in and do that, otherwise my son would have been able to complete this without any help. Note, this is big. Its just under 90 inches long and in my picture you can tell I built it in the kids play room, and once assembled this will not fit through an average door. Setup: 5/5 It really doesnt take long at all to put together or to take apart. Other than the cover which needs to be tied, a child can assemble. Quality: 5/5 My family has taken this built and taken this apart at least a dozen times and it has held up just fine. I store it in the box that it was shipped in but I could see if you dont care for the plastic rods they could get bent. But, just store them in the box and you are all set. Value: On sale for Under $50. My kids keep coming back to this and all 3 of them love playing in side it. Really does allow them to play together, or use it as a fort to camp out in while they play on their tablets. I did receive this product for free or at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.

My family absolutely loves play sets like these, so of course it was an instant hit! It’s easy to assemble, enough so that the kids can help, which they love. It’s not very sturdy or stable once assembled, but it wasn’t ever advertised as such and the kids know that they have to be careful to not knock it over. Other than stability, the frame and fabric feel durable. I can foresee getting a lot of use out of this toy! They love the look of the ship and love that it has a wheel, too. *I received this product for review purposes. All opinions stated are my own.

This is super fun and the kids love it! I like that it stores in a very compact size. It’s nice for the older kids to be a part of the building process and creates an engaging opportunity with more reward for them! I’m not sure I would pay the full price, the sale price is a lot more reasonable. It would be perfect for a small pirate themed party as well! We were given this product in exchange for an honest review.

Received this product for this review. Such a fun item! Our 3 and 5 year old were crawling in and out of the window holes as soon as I had it halfway put together. The footprint of this is HUGE compared to the play space inside it. This will be a special event toy, not something that we can leave setup for long periods of time. Easy to put together and my boys helped! It's just big!

I really like the size of this and it was fun to put together as a family and provides hours of fun for the kids to play in. You need some space for this one! Very good product for the kids imagination.
