The Pro versions can be a nice upgrade if you are looking for that little extra power as it is a bit faster and may have a larger screen, which is always a nice upgrade. It will depend on what you want to do with your iPad but if you are just using it for web browsing, emails, and things like that you may not even notice the differences you would while doing something more hardware intensive such as gaming. Q: How do I know that is Ipad is not refurbished and 100% brand new?
A: Casing for the device would be different. It won't show an image of the Ipad itself but says the product's name instead. The Refurbished shows the product name and the brand new one shows the image.

Q: Is the product not supposed to have plastic shrink wrap surrounding the outside box? I received it and the box only has 2 pull tabs on bottom and top.
A: no, apple quit shrink wrapping now it's just the tear away tabs
