Q: If used on fabric couch, does the area have to be dry or can you sprinkle on to the damp area (that was cleaned with soap and water)?

A: Thank you for your question. We apologize for the delayed response. Do not use on wet or damp carpet or upholstery. This product is intended to be used only as directed. If it was applied to wet carpet or upholstery, the powder would stick to the wet carpet fibers or upholstery, and it would be difficult to vacuum up the residual deodorizing powder afterwards, as the usage instructions suggest.

Q: Though Arm & Hammer Extra Strength Odor Eliminator doesn't specifically say it removes pet odors, e.g., urine, does it work on pet odors? Or would U recommend using another powder made for pet odors?

A: Thank you for your question. This product can be used on most types of carpeting. Before use, we recommend testing in a hidden area of the carpet for color-fastness. Mix ½ tablespoon in ½ cup water and pour small amount on carpet, let dry. Observe for color change. If none, SPRINKLE baking soda on a DRY carpet. Wait 15 minutes and vacuum.

Affordable. Smells good and scent lasts for a few days. Not sure why the manufacturer removed the OxiClean, but I wish they hadn’t. Now it’s just a deodorizer. Not as much, if any, cleaning power. One box only lasts us a couple days. We have a bunch of area rugs and I’m heavy handed with it, especially in areas where my dogs usually lay. If you use sparingly and/or don’t have a lot of carpet/rugs, it should last for much longer.

Personally I’m sensitive to scents so I use the bare minimum of this. If you use just a little too much the smell will linger for days. It’s not a bad scent it’s just overwhelming especially if you use this in your bedroom.

A lot of other reviewers are complaining about the strong scent. Yes, it is very overpowering when you first sprinkle it on your carpet. I have an area rug in my living room that I sprinkled it on and I wasn’t able to sit and drink my coffee on the couch, because it was too much for me. That being said, Once you vacuum it up, the scent is not as strong. That is exactly why I bought this because I wanted to make my carpet smell fresh. obviously, if you have asthma or allergies or a baby or something like that, I would not suggest using it but as long as you’re not in the immediate area, breathing it in constantly then it’s fine. I would suggest maybe opening some windows or something for ventilation. You can’t have your cake and eat it too if you know what I mean.

Very pleasant smell I was very afraid it would knock me out because I’m super sensitive to perfume/fragrance. After deep cleaning the carpet and was semi dry I sprinkled odor powder over and leave it for 3 hours before vaccum.
