about this item
The catalog of the exhibition organized by the Archivio di Stato in Florence, and there held from October 9, 2016 to February 4, 2017, traces the long history of the relationship between the river Arno and the city thanks to a rich historical documentation, especially ancient maps and drawings. While the first two sections are devoted to the history of the river and the territory since ancient times, the third focuses on the disastrous flood that hit Florence in November 1966. Texts by Mauro Cozzi, Saida Grifoni, Anna Guarducci, Leonardo Rombai, Giuseppina Carla Romby, Francesco Salvestrini, Carla Zarrilli.
