Q: I have poker straight fine hair and it can become very frizzy. Would the cowash be ok for my hair type?
submitted by Sherry H - 5 years ago
A: Yes! I think this cowash can work an any hair type, it's great. It smooths and really moisturizers. I hardly use shampoo anymore, this cleans so well, and keep your hair really soft!
submitted byMoRoe - 5 years ago
A: Co-wash can certainly work just as well on fine, straight hair. The important thing to monitor is that it doesn't cause build up that might weigh fine hair strands down and make them look dull. You can experiment with co-washing and if you notice any dulling or weighing down, it's probably time to use a sudsing (non-sulfate) shampoo to revive your volume and shine. Best of luck to you!

A: I have the same hair type and use this religiously. LOVE it.
submitted byAshley - 5 years ago
Q: I have two questions - I have used Wen, which is pricey - then I used Tweak'd (which I love), but pricey as well. Is AsIAm good for all ethnicities and is it OK to use on color treated hair?
submitted by Ronnie - 6 years ago
A: Co-washing is possibly one of the best methods for color treated hair. It gives your hair a break in-between using a sudsing shampoo. When you do use a sudsing shampoo, always use a non-sulfate type. This will also keep your hair color intact longer between colorings. It may seem odd but I use two different types of co-washes, As I Am for deeper co-wash cleansing and Deva Curl No-Poo for lighter and more moisturizing co-washes. I also have a non-sulfate shampoo (Deva Curl Low-Poo) and a deeper build up remover (Deva Curl Micellar Build Up Remover). I am loving Not Your Mother's Naturals Tahitian Gardenia and Mango Butter conditioner right now also. My hair is 3b & 3c and my daughter's hair is fine, thin and straight and I can actually use many of the same products I use to co-wash and condition her hair! So certainly good products can be great for all ethnicities.

A: Yes & yes!! I am Caucasian of Italian ancestry with thick 2C-3A curl pattern that tends to frizz if that helps you understand my hair texture. It's great--definitely an amazing product. It doesn't weigh your hair down & it is cleansing as well as very conditioning. I've been using it for a few months now twice a week & I only shampoo about every 3 weeks. My hair is a lot healthier now.

A: I used to use WEN. Then I switched to AsIAm about 7 years ago and have never looked back. I do not use anything else on my hair which is naturally blonde, wavy hair.

The tub has a lot of product and all you need is a little bit each wash so it lasts such a long time. Also helps cut down on buying shampoo and conditioner since the cowash is all you need. Amazing price! Smells wonderful. Most importantly, my waves are finally back and better after being so frizzy, limp, and dry before. I swear I have the best hair days after using this product and plopping my hair. On my way to buy more!

this co wash is really good! I use it on my none wash days. i know it's technically washing but it's much more gentle. I have fine curly hair thats really oily and this makes my hair feel very clean and super soft. I will definitely repurchase and for the price I would give a try!

This allows you to wet and massage scalp while detangling and conditioning hair. Good alternative to using shampoo every day. I have fine hair and it doesn’t seem too weigh it down too much. I’ve tried a few of these cleansing conditioners, and this is one of my favorites.
I got this product while trying to find a cheaper alternative to New Wash. I have straight/slightly wavy undyed hair that is FINE and very prone to being greasy. I use this product to extend the time between shampoos. I used to have to wash my hair every other day or two at the most, but now I only wash once every week or so! My hair feels so much healthier now. It’s less prone to getting greasy too.

thick and defined my curls. the fragrance reminds me of Dior sauvage or a clean linen scent and it's quite strong so be mindful if you're sensitive to that, it lasts for days.
Been using this product for king fine curly hair for about a year. I love the product and how moisturizing it is. Also use it on my 5 year old daughter hair and it helps keep down the frizz.

This is the best cowash on the market! It smells wonderful. It strikes a perfect balance between being moisturizing but not to heavy. This jar lasts a long time as you don’t need a lot to get your hair clean and soft. The packaging is so much better than a bottle because you can get every bit of product out of it.

This cowash is fantastic for my 2c hair—it leaves my hair clean and moisturized without waxy residue like some curly hair products. I just wish they would make it in a tall pulp or squeeze bottle because messing with a wide mouth tub in the shower is just absurd and leads to a lot of waste. Please please change the packaging!

I have very long straight natural blonde hair and I tried this and LOVE IT. It actually cleans your scalp and leaves hair soft in one product. I don't know how a conditioner washes the scalp, but it does. I put oil in my hair prior to washing and it washes it out and leaves my hair so soft. I love this product and will keep buying it for sure.

I'm totally new to cowashing and am surprised to say I've had great results after just one use! My natural waves (somewhere between a 2A and 2C) really benefited. Hair feels clean, scalp feels clean, and everything LOOKS great too!! After showering I used some gel approved by the Curly Girl Method. I have been enjoying excellent volume and waves for the last 48 hours. Normally in that span of time my hair would have fallen flat in a static-y sad mess. I'm going to keep using this and see where it takes me, but I just had to rave about my amazing results.

I love this stuff. My hair loves this stuff. However, when I scoop it out with my hands and attempt to screw the lid back on it’s a dicey game. I just lost this game and now there is beautiful goopy cowash all over my shower walls, door, and floor. Please please PLEASE put a pump on this.
