Best portable alternative to UHF

I am an AT dealer and a design/build sound contractor. I also do some small live sound events for my clients. It's not a big part of my business. In out large urban area UHF became unworkable. I started with 4 System 10 mics and have expanded to 8 mics with a couple of auxiliary beltpack transmitters. Despite being very economical, my clients love the sound of the mics. They have been easy to work with. I have since transitioned all my installed sound designs to System 10Pro mics and no longer specify UHF systems. Been very successful.

I bought these to use for a variety of purposes, but mostly for speech. My wife is the one who primarily uses these and she is not a techie. I wanted microphones with clear signal that were very easy to set up and use. These have been exactly that. We travel with these and never know what the environment will be like. We have never had problems with poor signal or interference in the year we have had them. The lavaliers are a little delicate and we treat them as such so have never had any issues. If your treat your equipment with care it will serve you well.

WIFI Trouble

We have a least 10 UHF RF systems at our church. Thought we would get a System 10 to escape the crowded RF of our area. Worked with it almost a year now. The receiver is mounted 20 feet, line of site, from the speaking position - absolute best case set up! Sadly, The system Drops Out on an irregular basis, the only good thing is there is no audible click. This happens when anyone uses a Laptop or Ipad on the podium. A smart phone in a pocket of the person using the TX can cause the same problems. Even tried forcing other devices into 5.0Ghz ONLY. This did not help. Tried a friends System 10 and had same problems. I personally think the 2.4Ghz radio in TX is not powerful enough. Either way this system is not ready for professional applications. Sorry, love all your other products

Great guitar wireless unit

I really love this unit. I got it on sale for less than $300, serious bargain. The sound quality is outstanding, indistinguishable from cable. I had to have my first one replaced bc the faceplate fell off and in doing so, the two little wires that connect internal circuit board to the front antennas came off. Despite being very experienced in soldering and electronics, I couldn't reattach bc the connectors had broken. Luckily I had sprung for the $29 replacement warranty, and the process was painless and prompt. I wouldn't say the unit is 'flimsy', as it was a drop from about 6 feet, (and wasn't the first drop, but it isn't built like a 'tank' like Boss pedals.) It's is most likely expected to be in a rack (like mine is now). The sound is *excellent*, I would say that my range is about 60+ feet, which is more than adequate, and I'll tell you why... In reality, a 100+foot range is useless. I rarely go more than 30-40 ft away, so 60ft is plenty. THe reason 100+ foot ranges are useless is bc at 100 foot distance, you now have about a 90 millisecond delay between what you play and what you hear. The delay isn't from the unit, as radio waves travel at 3x10^ meters/sec (speed of light ;) ), no, the delay is from the sound waves getting to you from your speakers. Trying to play with that much lag/delay, you aren't going to be tight, and will easily lose timing with the band. Similar to the reason you need monitors on stage. And, if you are playing on a 100+ foot stage, you will probably be in a higher price range, lol. So, for the price, this is a fantastic unit. I would definitely buy it again. Battery life, Definitely opt for the Energizer "Advanced" Lithium. I did some careful tests, and they are the best price/playing time. Name brand Alkalines got me about 4 hours, the "Advanced" Lithium got me well over 20+ hours of play. So they are 3x the price, but easily 5-6x playing time. Don't go for the "Ultimate" Lithium, ther was very little, if any, additional play time.

the quality of sound is very good, but the microphone is almost un usable. If it is not in a mic stand and is being held in the hand you can hear every little movement of the fingers and hands.

Great sound

Lavalier model. Installed in small church, mic up front, receiver way in back. No interference, good signal, good sound. Lapel clip not as pictured. Wire spring on lapel clip that's supposed to hold mic lacks springiness, so just threaded wire through clip. Oh well. Set up easy, works great, good signal, no noise, no interference. Like the mute button feature on transmitter.

Quality Wireless Mic

The system has excellent quality and I have had no interference problems with it. I was getting a little extra white noise at one venue, but it ended up being an EQ issue that was resolved on the board. Otherwise, the system has served me well for both live music and DJ'ing weddings. Speeches sound just as good as live vocals over a 6 piece band. Looking to buy another system soon!
