Q: Are the lampshades open on the bottom? I can’t tell from the picture and am trying to find one with bottoms so the light isn’t so blinding.
A: The shades are open at the top and bottom, but the lamp comes with three shade diffusers that you can put on the bottom of each shade according its shade size.

Q: If you purchase the option with the light bulbs, are they a yellow tinge (soft white) or true white (daylight)?
A: If you purchase the option with the light bulbs, it includes (3) LED bulbs - 2700K yellow tinge (soft white).

Q: What's the wattage of the bulbs already included with this lamp?
A: The lamp includes 3 LED bulbs, which are 10 wattage and 800 lumen each.

Q: Color of shade? Linen white or beige?
A: There are two options of color, bronze lamp base comes with linen beige shade, and nickle lamp base comes with linen white shade.

Q: What is the distance from the base pole to the point of the longest arm? In other words what is the overhang? Is it 42 or 51"?
A: The distance from the weight base to the longest arm is around 51"; and if you're talking the base pole to the longest arm, it's around 45"; and the three arms open wide is around 42".

Q: It is stated there are 2 options in setting up the lamp, one that is stacked and one that is more spread out. Are there indents in the metal poles for the setscrews or some other way of knowing how to choose between options.
A: I just put the lamp together tonight. There is nothing in the directions about how to spread it. Mine ended up being stacked by putting it together flat on the floor. Once upright, I found that using the tiny Allen wrench and loosening the screws you had previously tightened, you can spread each one out, tightening the tiny screw again when the position is attained. I’m too tired to do it tonight, but I’m going to have to figure out how to get it looking more esthetically, like the picture. Once the screws are tightened, you can’t readjust them like some similar floor lamps allow you to do. Any readjusting will require loosening the screws again. (Word of caution: they provide you with three replacement screws, but these nearly “microscopic” screws are rolling around loose in the ziplock baggy, along with the Allen wrenches.)

Q: I also would like to know how to insert the diffuser plates without hurting the shade. The instructions just say to insert them -- EEK!
A: Firstly you have to look for correct size of diffuser for each shade, the lamp has 3 different size of shade L, M, and S. Try to insert the diffuser with some angle into the shade, than put them to the bottom, the diffuser should stop and stay at the end of the edge.
submitted byEmily - 5 years agoA: Once finding the right size (and the right side—fabric side will be the side visible) I found it easiest to first insert one edge into the bottom of the shade —at an angle— (not needing to bend it in any way) and pushing it gently until the circle disk slips inside. Then reach down from the top of the shade to gently push it downward as necessary til it easily falls into place. Changing the bulb in the future will be a pain; why I used LEDs. (BTW, the directions are not the greatest, Target).

Q: From a previous question the max height is 82" and the min height is 58" so curious if these heights are adjustable? Also, is the brushed nickel or bronze darker? Texture of metal?
A: The height is not adjustable. Target sells two different colors for this lamp, one is Bronze with the natural linen shades, and the other is Brushed Nickel with the white linen shades.
