Featuring an enameled surface for easy cooking and cleaning, the skillet is perfect for baking Ayesha's Blackberry and Pineapple Fruit Cake with Vanilla Crème Fraiche or searing up Easy Pan Steaks to pile on top of some Loaded Mashed Potatoes.

I've enjoyed this pan a lot since I got it. I love cast iron, but this is my first with an enamel interior that isn't just white and smoothed. This is dark and more like textured coated metal. It heats evenly and is a cinch to clean up. First I blot up any oil with paper towels (I use it most often to make hamburgers and chops, or pan-fried steak), then I soak it in warm sudsy water. It's nice to be able to use soap on cast iron. The exterior generally just wipes clean, though I do use a plastic scrub pad on the interior from time to time. Then I immediately dry it or leave it in a hot oven. You can't dry it on the burner as you do regular cast iron. The only cons are that it is very heavy (like all cast iron) and on the smaller side. It's just about right for two steaks or four burgers, but not much more. Still, bigger would be heavier, so it's just one of my various sized frying pans. The prettiest one.

Excited then very disappointed

I was very excited to get this pan. But after the second time using it, I have to say I am very disappointed. Even with using oil in the pan, my chicken stuck hard to the pan bottom. And now it has been left with black markings in the bottom of pan, and the only way to get them out is to use a hard scrubber, which I didn't do, but want to. After reading the paperwork on the care of the pan, it was not supposed to have stuck on food, if you used oil. Not true. it said you shouldn't have to re season the pan, again, not true. I thought this cast iron would be different than the old cast iron pans I have, that have to be seasoned all the time, but I was wrong.

Have used this gorgeous pan several times already and I’ve had it less than a week. I’ve always used cast iron but this is my first one with enamel. Have not had the problem with food sticking as some have said. Love it!

I made coated chicken wings in this skillet and they turned out perfect. It's actually quite simple to use and the clean up is also easy.
