Got this for $12 on clearance as it was missing the mallet but I love this tot for my 1 year old! We just use a metal spoon or a mallet he has from a different toy. He loves the color and the spinning. I love watching his face light up when he hears the wonderful notes it plays!
THE BEST, our go-to gift for children's birthday parties. This and the Battat Symphony in B are my toddler's favorite toys (and we love playing with them, too!). The bells are beautifully made, sound great, fun to spin, and perfect for picking out simple one-octave melodies like "Are You Sleeping Brother John?" and "Row, Row, Row The Boat." To be fair, we're a musical family, so I assume that that someone with no innate interest in music would get bored with them quickly. For us, the main problem with these bells is that they are never in stock when we want to buy more for gifts!
My son is one year. He loves spinning it. He isn't great at hitting it with the stick yet but he enjoys just spinning it. It is a pretty heavy toy and my son loves to throw everything so I'm afraid he'll hurt someone if he throws it or himself. Besides that it's great.
I ordered this online because in store (I checked 3 stores) all of them did not have the stick. I assumed they were lost somewhere between manufacturer and store shelf. Mine was delivered without it as well, I'm super bummed. I will try to return it, but will not reorder even though I still want the toy.
Wonderful tones, doesn't hold interest more than 10 minutes

Purchased for my 12 year old. She says it is a great accompaniment to her thinking process when she writes. My 2 year old son has taking a liking to it and tries to play with it daily. The only down side is it runs it's course (of interest) in about 10 minutes. I don't mind the volume because the chords are so beautiful. I just wish that it would hold wither of their attenton for longer.
My daughter's therapist has the extremely old school version of this. I was so glad to have found one and I was pleasantly surprised. Its sturdy, heavy bells and makes beautiful music. It would be even better if it had no skid material on the bottom to keep it from sliding, but overall, great product.
