The beams connect easily but it slides a lot more on the hardwood floor unlike the circle ones which have more rubber grip. My son fell when he tried to hop from one circle to a beam across from it. The beam slid across the floor.

My kids ages range between 4-11 and they all love incorporating it apart of their play. The bumps on a few of them aren’t really that soft but with socks it’s no big deal to them.
