Q: How long does it take to assemble? We have one from Santa for our daughter and just curious on the time I am going to need to get it together before the big guy arrives

submitted by Shaun - 2 years ago
  • A: Took me and my husband an hour and a half to assemble. Definitely required two sets of hands!

submitted byTess - 11 months ago
  • A: Hi Shaun. The timeframe will depend on how many people are setting the kitchen up. It is a very secure set and all the parts need to be put together carefully. It can take 20 minutes plus to set up completely. Please make sure to follow the directions in the exact order they are in and to not bypass or skip any steps. Thank you. The Battat Team

Q: Can this kitchen be converted Montessori style like the IKEA one (running water at kitchen sink?)

submitted by hi - 4 months ago
  • A: Hello hi. The B. Mini Chef Kitchenette can be converted to a Montessori style like the IKEA one. We do not, however, recommend that you use running water. The water may dampen the wood and if not dried completely, mold may occur. The Battat Team

It was annoying to put together, the tiny screws for the doors took half of my time. But I love this play kitchen. We’ve had several and this one is my favorite so far. It’s a good size for my 1 and 3 year old, it’s got a good amount of storage (which I added some buckets from the $3 section and they fit perfectly!). All of the stuff the kitchen comes with fits nicely, and there’s room for extra stuff too. We also got the cute coffee maker that is the same brand, so that’s fun.

Multiple pieces fell off and chipped off. The inside board pieces of the oven fell off. Part of the wood to the microwave fell off. The counter top chipped, all while carefully putting it together. I love the colors and design, but this is poor quality. My 3 year old does love it. The doors to each appliance are difficult to open though, you have to pull pretty hard causing the whole kitchen to shake and all the dishes fall out.

This is a well-made kitchen set, and we bought the added accessories. Some accessories came with the kitchen so be careful when adding on accessories so you don't duplicate if you don't want. We also bolted the unit to the wall with L-brackets, for safety as little one was tempted to step on shelf and pull. He goes to it every day during play, likes to put things away, and as he gets older the play is changing.

The quality is so disappointing for the price. It’s very flimsy and feels borderline unsafe for child use. I’m skeptical of how it will hold up. Wishing I had just purchased the ikea kitchen. It is cute and my child loves it but I don’t think it will last as the materials and design are so cheap. It also came with damaged pieces that functioned so I didn’t return it but it goes to show to sloppy craftsmanship. Again, for the price it’s a serious let down.

This was the tallest one I could find, I needed it to work for my 6yo. I was able to assemble it by myself, a couple hiccups but easy enough. All you need is a Phillips head screwdriver, they supply hex wrench. My fault for seeing it came with ‘accessories’ and thought it was food. If they threw in a package of basic food items this would be a 5 star review - in cases of moms on the run who could forget such a thing, and all the excitement to cook is let down without stuff to make. Thankfully Target had some I was able to pick up the next day

Very cute, but I expected the quality to be better, it’s made of wood but the wood is very thin & the “shelves” and back pieces that slide in to hold things together are more like thick poster board. The wood isn’t finished, or if is was, it was hardly enough to notice. I sealed it on my own because I felt it wouldn’t withstand being wiped down more than a few times, let alone of a child spilled anything on it. Annoying to put together-half the pieces weren’t labeled, they didn’t align correctly, half of the screw holes weren’t even drilled, and the ones that were I had to re-drill because they were so small/shallow the screws wouldn’t fit inqq

Got this kitchen on sale, and it was worth it. Very cute wooden kitchen. Does have a little smell to it hopefully will air out after a while. Wanted something a little lower for my 21 month old but she loves it and her almost 5 year old brother. I was worried that some things wouldn’t line up well or be broken from some of the reviews but thankfully no issues.

Why is there so much fiber glass all over this ????
1 reply from Battat Team team - 2 months ago
Hi there - Battat doesn't use fiber glass. The material that we think you are referring to is polyethylene terephthalate, or PET for short. PET is a clear, strong, and lightweight plastic that is widely used for packaging. It is completely recyclable, and is the most recycled plastic in the U.S and worldwide. It is also considered one of the safest materials available today. We hope that this information brings you some peace of mind. Battat would never use anything that might harm the little ones playing with our toys. Sincerely, Team Battat

After scouring the internet for a kitchen that’s cute, inexpensive, and comes with some accessories, we chose this one. Almost didn’t because of bad reviews about damaged pieces upon delivery and a strong chemical smell, but I was impressed with how well packaged it was it may have even been a little overboard! As for the smell, it was bad when I first unpacked it but I sprayed it liberally with diluted vinegar and the smell was gone by the time I had it assembled. A hinge on the oven door broke on day one but for the price and aesthetic of the toy it’s not a big deal to me to just replace the hinge. Overall, the perfect kitchen, exactly what we were looking for! Kiddo hasn’t stopped playing with it and I’m confident it’ll last him a few years.
