You don't need a plane ticket to travel the globe. Baby Einstein's 5-in-1 Journey of Discovery Gym is a world of fun awaiting your little explorer. From tummy time to sit and play, the baby gym features a collection of activities that she'll love - even as a toddler! Prop your newborn up on the pillow and watch her wiggle and reach for the hanging toys above. Or coo with excitement as 20 minutes of global-themed songs capture her attention. As she grows, she'll crawl all around the world chasing the 10 colorful balls. The sides of the mat fold up so you can create your very own ball pit right in the living room, and use the ball drop canopy to help baby's motor skills development. Thanks to the size of this jumbo activity mat, you can show her all the bright colors and continents that surround her. With detachable plush toys, rattles, mirrors and more, this play gym will take baby on a world of adventure.
The main problem with the mat is the lack of padding on the majority of the of it. There is only padding on the side, but the floor of it is basically fabric and thin cotton. I put a thick yoga mat under it since we don't have carpet. Once the baby can crawl the walls do nothing to keep them there. It's great for a short while, but once the baby can crawl everything else is more interesting so you don't get to use it for that long.

Super cute playmat. I chose this one due to the size (for twins) and that you could put up the sides (which we initially used to block the dog from walking on the mat). They were only able to share the mat for the first few months because as they started rolling it still was not enough space, but they absolutely loved the toys that come with it. The use of the playmat as a ballpit isn't super functional, as by the time they are big enough to sit up and play with the balls they so quickly get to the stage where they are trying to crawl out of it! Overall, it's a cute playmat and the bigger size is a nice feature.
The box was open when it was delivered, so I am not sure if I am missing anything.
Colors are bright, but not as big as I expected, especially since it is a ball pit when the sides are up. Very closed in not much room for play.
I also bought the Disney Finding Nemo gym and Love that one. It has lights and sounds and the baby is not as closed in.
My baby loves the gym, but the giraffe music box is dead. It plays for a few minutes and then only plays a garbled noise. I do not want to return the product because my baby likes the toys and the mat, and the Targets near me do not have the product in stock for an exchange so I would only be able to get a refund. I contacted the manufacturer to see if I could get a replacement music giraffe, and their solution was for me to send them a picture of the destroyed product then they would refund my money. That was exactly what I was trying to avoid because I want to keep the product. This would also require me to dispose of the trash myself, and it also took them a while to respond. I guess I will keep the item, use it without a music box, and avoid all Baby Einstein products in the future.
