Q: can this jar hold hot water? up to what temperature?

A: Hi Birds, thanks for your interest in our products! Our canning jars are made of annealed glass composed of soda, silica, lime, and cullet; the glass is not tempered. The jars are not safe for hot beverages, nor for oven or microwave use. They have been tested for use in water bath canners and pressure canners following approved recipes and current guidelines for home canning, both of which includes steps for preventing thermal shock and breakage.

Q: Can I stack two of these jars on top of each other, or are they not made to nest? (I ask bc the one-pint wide-mouth jars will nest.) Thank you.

A: Hi Jay, thanks for your interest in our products! You can stack empty jars (with closures on them) or jars with preserved food in them. Cardboard between the layers is optional and we don’t have a recommended limit on layers, please be sure the jars remain stable. The Regular Mouth jars cannot nest inside one another. We hope this helps!

A: Hi Claudia, thanks for your interest in our products! This single 32oz Regular Mouth jar can be used for home canning and pickling, following a tested recipe. These jars are also sold in a case pack of 12. The Ball Fermentation Kit will not fit this Regular Mouth jar, they are designed for our Wide Mouth jars. We hope this helps!
