A: No? I read on another website that it has more detergent as it is more focused on grease from cooking than the all purpose cleanser.

Q: Does barkeeper's friend contain ammonia?

A: I got this information directly from a google search on barkeeper's friend which was very easy & simple to do. When in doubt, google it. Active ingredients. According to the 2015 material safety data sheet, the ingredients are feldspar, linear sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (DDBSA), and oxalic acid. Unlike more abrasive cleaning powders such as Comet and Ajax, Bar Keepers Friend uses oxalic acid as its primary active ingredient.
submitted bybobbyjames - 7 years agoA: Even though there is no list of ingredients on the label, one can infer that the product DOES NOT contain ammonia. Here is the except from the label: "Contains Oxalic Acid... Do not mix with other chemicals. such as bleach or ammonia".

A: Depends on what is meant by scratches. If they are the typical grey marks made by flatware, then the answer is yes, Bar Keepers Friend All-Purpose Cleanser and Powder will remove them. However, if they are actual scratches into the surface of the plate – then no cleanser product will remove them.

A: Bar Keepers Friend Powder Cleanser is fine for use in the toilet bowl, and it is septic safe. As for putting this product in the tank, we would not suggest this as the product would simply settle into the bottom of the tank.

A: Yes, our Powder works well on outdoor furniture. However, we recommend using our Soft Cleanser as it would make it much easier to remove/rinse away particles like dirt etc.

One of my holy grail cleaning products! It does wonders to clean stainless steel and remove rust and hard water marks. I use this especially on my bathroom tub as it has integrated non-slip texture that makes it hard to clean with other products - but it’s no match for Bar Keepers. I like to make a paste with the powder and some water, lather it on the surface that needs cleaning, let sit for a few minutes, scrub, and wipe clean.

I’m so pleasantly impressed with this product! Our bath tub had some scratches and marks that would not budge and made it look dirty. I quick sprinkle of this stuff and some light scrubbing made it look so much better!! Definitely recommend. Can’t wait to clean more!
