I love the career Barbie's. I hope they show little girls that they too can do job's previously only meant for men. I gave this Barbie to my niece and she loved it! My daughter loved this Barbie especially because she learned in school about real firefighters and was excited to role play as one! She also had a lot of fun with accessories that came with it. My little girl is 5 years old and has recently become obsessed with everything firefighter. She has been taking over her older brother’s fire trucks and putting out (imaginary) fires left and right. In an attempt to discourage her from taking his toys, her brother told her that girls can’t be firefighters. I reassured her that he was not correct, but of course she was crushed... until she opened up her Barbie Firefighter Doll. It was all the proof she needed. Girls can do anything. Great to have a different version of Barbie doing some community service away from the jazzy and fun things for a change :). The accessories include a good size dog with a moveable head. The fire fighter suit is removable so it can also be used as a regular doll. Kids have a great time doing role play and combining them with other barbies like a doctor Barbie. I like the background of the package with a fire engine behind it. The doll itself is cute, hair is nice and soft and the facial features printed on look nice. I like that she isn't overly done up with lips and eyes. Her outfit has velcro on the front for easy on/off for little kid fingers. The work boots dont come off which I like, that way they dont get mixed up or left with just a single shoe. The accessories are also a good addition, my 7 yo daughter of course loved the puppy but was also pretty interested in the fire hydrant and extinguisher, which made it a prime learning moment. Shes been using the hydrant and extinguisher while playing and I honestly thought she'd go straight to the puppy and forget the other accessories. She's been using it for about a week and is still interested in the toy and has done a good job keeping the pieces together. 5/5 stars, I love the theme that you can be anything. This is one of the best Barbie toys that I’ve ever seen. The Barbie is awesome, but what I really like is that she’s a firefighter - a career that is widely viewed as ‘masculine,’ showing little girls that they too can be whatever they want and that they’re also strong and resilient! She came with a little dog, a fire hydrant and a fire extinguisher which is cool bc those props provide an opportunity to explain fire fighting tools to your child. I loved the idea of a firefighter Barbie for my 7 year old daughter. My 4 year old son is obsessed with firetrucks and thought this doll would be a way for them to play together. The doll comes with a removable hat, fire hydrant and dog. My daughter seemed disappointed that the doll didn’t come with a pretty “off duty” outfit. It’s also unfortunate that the doll’s limbs aren’t flexible so she could have an easier time fighting imaginary fires. I love this inspirational take on Barbie. Great that she is a firefighter. Great role model for children and creative, real hero play and imagination. My little one loves playing with her and the little dog. She plays along with my older and his imaginext toys and firefighter sets. She loves taking the hat off, fixing her hair, then putting the hat back on too. Also enjoys playing with the fire hydrant and extinguisher. This Barbie is a doll to allow kids to see that women can wear the firefighter uniform and do the job right beside men. She has her Dalmatian companion associated to fie houses and her fire extinguisher and fire hydrant needed to contain fires. She is a very good example of everyday firefighters. My son has barely put this Barbie down since he got her. She's been all over the house with her trusty sidekick fighting fires in our Christmas village and on the gingerbread houses! I love the simplicity of the accessories. It leaves a lot open to the imagination, but also makes them more durable without stickers and extra parts. The dog was an adorable addition that gives my sons active imagination even more stories to pursue. Overall I highly recommend Barbie both because of durability and the hours of fun it will provide. This toy was great for conversations about different careers with my six year old daughter. She was very excited to get it out of the box and immediately set up a “fire station” for her new doll which consisted of a cardboard box and her brother’s toy fire truck. She drew on the walls of the box to make it more like a fire station and she enjoyed that very much. She also liked putting the hat and boots on the doll and she enjoyed the cute puppy that came with it. She set up the fire extinguisher in the fire station along with the fire hydrant that came with the doll. She had a little difficulty taking the boots off the doll but I showed her how and she did it herself after that. We discussed different people we know that are firefighters and how girls can grow up to be firefighters too. She was very interested in the subject and asked me several questions. My kiddos, 4 and 6, have enjoyed playing with this toy. They especially like the fire extinguisher and puppy that come included with it. I like that the firefighter accessories are printed onto her uniform because there are fewer small pieces to keep track of. Our only complaint is that the hat doesn't seem to fit on her head very well so it does not stay on when the kids play with it. Aside from that minor issue, the kids seem to like it very much and I appreciate that the uniform still looks like an authentic firefighter uniform, complete with radio and flashlight, without having to figure out how to not misplace the small pieces.
