Barbie Chelsea Doll 6-Inch Small Doll with Brace for Scoliosis Spine Curvature

I am an adult with scoliosis and bought this doll simply from how excited I was to find out there was a doll with scoliosis! Younger me would have loved a doll like this and now as an adult collector of Barbie dolls this is truly a meaningful doll for my collection. I love the direction Mattel is taking to include a more diverse set of characters with differences!!

I'm a woman in my 30s who wore a back brace for most of my childhood. I'm so happy to see a Barbie like me, finally! I plan to keep on my desk at work with my bobble heads, should be a good conversation starter to raise awareness!

I love this doll. I love that there is representation of scoliosis for those who have it. I have scoliosis and this doll is something I would have enjoyed playing with as a child.

I think it’s so wonderful that a doll that has Scoliosis has been introduced. I had severe Scoliosis and wore a brace that went from my neck to my pelvis for 5 years. I then had major surgery. The experience shaped my life. I can’t imagine how great it would have been to have a doll like me. Thank you Mattel for this awesome creation!!!

Excellent concept. Very realistic. I Love that she is smiling despite what some may consider a challenging situation for her. Great diversity. Creates compassionate and understanding dialog. The 1 that I received had her hair stuck where packaging was glued so be careful removing her from her package.

This doll is wonderful for little girls that might be new to being diagnosed with scoliosis. I have scoliosis & would have loved a Barbie like this when I was a kid!!

My 19 yo daughter has scoliosis and wore a brace throughout middle school and high school. When she saw this doll we had to have it. It will sit on her shelf, next to Coraline. Way to represent!

Please be inclusive to all Scoliosis patients! The Milwaukee brace which is the full body brace, a brace that starts around the neck & covers all the way down to the hips. Other than that, it is wonderful to have this Barbie that children can relate to!! Thanks for making her!

Thank you so much for making this doll! We haven’t gotten her yet but saw a quick story on our local news so I ordered one! My daughter was diagnosed at 11 and wore a brace for 2 and a half years… she watched the story and started to tear up- this made her feel seen!!! She is now out of her brace but still remembers what having to wear it for 18+ hours a day was like. Thank you Mattel for thinking of all the kids who have this come.

We stumbled across this Chelsea in Target today and we were so happily surprised! My daughter is 7 and has been wearing her brace for a year now. She got so happy, saying “she looks just like me!” Thank you Mattel!

I have had scoliosis most of my life. Had two back braces and surgery and still have effects from scoli, that I will have for the rest of my life. I am 30 now and bought this doll as a soon as I saw it. When I took her out of the box, I cried. Scoliosis is not represented much and a lot of people truly don’t know what people who have scoli, go through day to day! I am giving a round of applause to Mattel for FINALLY showing representation for us who have scoliosis!!

Thank you so much Mattel for making this doll and spreading awareness about Scoliosis. This will truly help kids with Scoliosis too. I was diagnosed at 8yo and I’m now 43 and ordered one for myself.

I bought this doll for my daughter after coming across it online. My daughter was born with scoliosis so to find a doll with scoliosis as well is amazing. When my daughter is old enough to understand why we go for yearly X-rays, she’ll now have a friend to go with her and not feel so alone. Thank you so much for creating this doll!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a sweet little doll and my little girls are having a good time playing with her. However, I do havea few notes, it is marked as 3+ and with the tiny shoes, I would honestly suggest this toy for closer to 5. We ended up throwing out the shoes because they were just too much for my 3-year-old. Additionally, the dress is adorable, but it is covered by this somewhat unexplainable corset or back-brace? It would be a much better toy without this aspect. Again, my kids discarded it because they did not know what it was. The high point of this doll is her pretty hair, my girls are loving brushing her hair.

She's about the size of a soda can. She doesn't come with any other accessories other than what you see in the product picture. I recommend this doll.

She immediately took it out of the packaging and played with it as if she was a bigger Barbie doll's daughter. This doll is beautiful and super well made. This Barbie would make for a great stocking stuffer if gifted around the holidays.

She has bright shining brown flowing hair. If there is wine complaint it would be the back brace is hard to connect and and it doesn’t not stay in place. I like the idea of the back brace because it gave me time to talk about why she wears the brace.
